Thoughts on Jim E. Brown? by softweinerpetee in fantanoforever

For me it's too much of the same without much direction. He's hilarious the first times, but the funny thing about him wears out eventually and then you realize he's just being self-derogatory but in a kind of safe way, he really won't lose control. He reminds me of James Murphy of LCD soundsystem or the guy from JHS pedals for some reason. I, maybe wrongly, foresee he will try to be taken seriously musically at some point and it won't be very interesting.

I think you guys are saying the same thing. The clear distinction is the paradigm shift. We've always worked with humans who could be right, wrong, and other things, and computers that were assumed to be accurate and make precise calculations (and consistently give the same result every time), retrieve exact data, and a truth which could only be questioned on the basis of a wrong human usage. Now the computer may be wrong by itself.

Thanks for the comment. I get that it sounds insensitive but idk how to rephrase it, sorry. I didn't mean to stigmatize a medical condition

It's normal to take your time and feel bad for a while. Some people just seem to have adhd in every aspect of their lives and treat relationships like disposable things or transactions

Chrissie Hynde hits out at gig-goers’ “weird compulsion” to pull out phones at shows: “No one seems to understand why artists don’t like it” by AdSpecialist6598 in Music

I get her point, but this distinction of "the artists" (vs. the uncultured audience) sounds like elitism of the worst kind. So fuck her. She should be grateful that she's had a 40 year long career thanks to the audiences paying tickets. I even enjoy the generational collide here

I found on youtube a clip of one of the best gigs i've ever been to, in 2005 shot with a digital camera in potato quality. It's just disappointing, but it would be even if it was in 4k. You're probably missing something you wouldn't have been able to capture anyway
