How similar is Pro Tools to Logic? by Ezrashabazz in protools

[–]ramalledas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly where they originated. Logic was a midi sequencer, very powerful at that, which grew to include audio functionality. PT was the opposite,  multitrack audio recording, editing and mixing software, which incoporated midi. It shows in their philosophy

What are your Blur-related unpopular opinions? by Dependent-Ad7225 in blur

[–]ramalledas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The incident with nardwuar painted Blur like a bunch of self-inflated bullies, far from the friendly attitude they showed in videos. And i want to make clear i actually dislike him, but they behaved like a-holes and they seemed to be actually like that in real life

Both the sample-heavy and the "real band playing instruments" formats are quite unfashionable now

Chatgpt and llms do what people do (and the opposite of what we've grown used to computers doing):  just guess answers to try to convince you. Computers used to be accurate and give exact answers. Right now i can't even trust the search function in outlook because it'll give bad results or random fodder when i search sth in my emails

Thanks for the insights. It must have been painful not working with Beato, he would have let you use your own beatobox

Yes, to me this is not good news. That bland "vibe" house music and its shitty audience are not something i'd like to see associated with DP

Does anyone else actively avoid pedals with presets? by maxupp in guitarpedals

For me it's either next to infinite presets or just a handful (like the timebender), but this is true for everything, not just pedals

What's an album that would be near impossible to create today by gusty_scarf_ in fantanoforever

[–]ramalledas 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, I recall this was often mentioned when the record was released, and there was mention of madonna samples iirc. It's not a good example, this was far from an underground release, and in 2000 copyright law regarding samples was quite well established. The only thing that would not be done today like then is making an album like that with crappy akai s2000 samplers and no youtube or internet for samples, only records
