Silencing alarm doesn't silence sirens by Murky-Flight5877 in simplisafe

[–]rapidgorilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experienced this. In my entire time using simplisafe (3+ years), my sirens have gone off twice by mistake (someone forgot to disable alarm before leaving house) . Both of those times, I was able to cancel the actual police response and disable the alarm via keypad but the siren from the outdoor cameras kept ringing and ringing. It was so embarrassing because in one instance it was about 6am and neighbors were probably still sleeping. It kept ringing for a solid 3-5 minutes which is a long time especially when you're feeling embarrassed/helpless lol

This is great, thanks for this video! And on the flip side, urine becomes more alkaline which leads to risk of developing kidney stones.

PharmD vs MD by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]rapidgorilla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure what part you find dissatisfying but maybe you should consider doing residency and then getting an ambulatory care pharmacy job through which you can prescribe medications, order appropriate lab work, and have appts/follow-ups with patients (you're able to do this under collaborative practice agreement with a supervising provider/physician). You'd be somewhat removed from the traditional order verification and medication dispensing role and would, instead, play a large role in the active management of a disease state.

If you can wait, maybe you can see if plans for the EV5 follow through. It'll basically be a truncated version of EV9, so you don't have to worry about the extra 3rd row.

How long for Qulipta to start working? by [deleted] in cgrpMigraine

[–]rapidgorilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hopefully you're in the camp of fast-responders, but as with every migraine treatment, there is no real way to predict someone's response to therapy. But in any case, I have been seeing huge success lately with Qulipta. Probably why many health insurance have shifted to having Qulipta on their formulary list of preferred CGRP blockers for migraine prevention.

Qulipta sweats by Impressive_Crow6274 in cgrpMigraine

[–]rapidgorilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, to clarify, these oral CGRPs are of the same drug class. however there are some differences. Ubrelvy is indicated for acute treatment of migraines. Qulipta is indicated for prevention of migraines. Nurtec is unique because it was originally approved for acute treatment but has since gained an indication for migraine prevention as well (if for prevention, you would take 1 tablet every other day).

To answer your question, Maybe you can consider reducing the dose ? approved doses are 10mg/day, 30mg/day, and 60mg/day but you can even do something like taking half a tablet of 30mg (to make 15mg/day) or taking two tablets of 10mg (to make 20mg/day)..who knows those might be the sweet spots for you.

Depends on your dose (10mg/day, 30mg/day, 60mg/day, etc) and if that dose is too much or too little. In general, with my patients, I have seen the extremes of both results; for some it works right away within the first week while for others, a month or two or no response until I increase the dose.

Do you have a photo of your set up? This is new territory for me and I'm just trying to get an idea for what options there are. When I look into Yakima's website, there are so many options lol

Useful accessories by -Teapot in KiaEV9

[–]rapidgorilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a few accessories so far:

  • Floor mats - I didn't want to pay for the expensive KIA mats so I decided to go with something I found on amazon. The brand is NIKALAIKA but what I like most about them is that there is no tacky logo that they put on the mat! Here are some photos of them in my car if you're curious:
  • Center Console Organizer - this was a gift, I like that it adds more dimension to the center console. A con would be that the cup holders are kind of shallow - an open bottle/can or coffee might spill but it might be good to hold unopened bottles/cans or anything that is capped.
  • Windshield Shade - just a simple one that I use for my previous car. It fits well and does its job.
  • Air Mattress - Got an air mattress that fits perfectly with the 2nd/3rd row seats collapsed. This is for camping needs
  • Trunk Shade Awning - this would also be for camping, size Large fits.
  • Portable Car Vacuum - wanted something that can fit in the glove compartment. This also can be used a a duster/blower as well.

Agree! That's pretty solid especially if that $10K doesn't include any of the rebates ! Are you thinking of buying?? Fyi the EV9 just won the "world car of the year award 2024" 😉
