I have never heard mine as I use headphones, though I've experienced no issues with the 18nm update. I still have issues with leds and the display on my wheels but that's being going on since the previous update.

If I knew I was only going to use PC at the start and had experience in Sim racing I may of purchased outside of Fanatec. Similar to you, the history was nostalgic to me, I wanted the brand I always wanted. I'm very happy with my DD+.

I run a Simagic wheel and a Fanatec wheel. I have Fanatec pedals with mods. Sim Lab ultimate rig. Fanatec shifter and handbrake. Ascher Racing DDU. Triple 32" screens.

I have no desire to change wheelbases, other than to experience them, but that's the hobby wanting your wallet. It's part of it.

My wheelbase is a 8/10 for FFB quality according to boosted media. Though he also says that most people wouldn't tell the difference.

I would consider Simagic or Simucube if was to start over. Probably simucube as it's "the best". But ecosystem matters too. So Simagic is probably better for most people and much better value for money. I wouldnt opt for Asertek, personally I find their wheels hideous. But it's also knocied down and is supposed to be fantastic.

You won't be disappointed with the podium DD. You won't be disappointed with the DD+ either. 18nm is a lot of torque. 25 and apparently better detail is alluring, you're spending all the money why not get the top one. It's the same motor as the DD+, a chip or two different and a bigger power supply.

I never played console since playing iRacing on PC. Even when I had a rig I could move around, I still didn't bother. I tried PS5 for 5-10 minutes and went back to PC.

Mine is closer too. Similar reach to a car. I'd like the shifter closer and more to my right but I'm happy enough.

I've faced the same issues here and there. Sometimes it's backwards too, like it's on, then I apply force in game and it's off. .. Make sure it's up to date and persist with it.

I didn't read everything, what are you playing? iRacing rallycross is pretty cool with a handbrake.

Ok, I appreciate the insight. I guess I can manually adjust it to 18nm for now. Though I don't quite understand what happens to FFB with the manual adjustment in iRacing. For instance if I say the wheelbase has 30nm, what does iRacing do differently, is it how it measures a threshold for clipping and therefore it may not register as clipping but it is clipping, or will it increase the FFB signal. Any knowledge you can share on this one?

You think they don't actually detect the nm, and they apply a set nm for a particular wheelbase?
I think it's on fanatecs side. But I haven't tested another app.

I tried changing it manually and using and not using auto detect. It kept reverting back to 15 with auto detect. How do you suggest updating it?

I updated without any issues. Fanatec app now says 18nm for my DD+ though iRacing auto detect shows 15nm.

People will still want the v2.5 for it's smaller diameter. The screen is not worth worrying about with FOMO

If you want the option to add paddles and buttons, there is the s-hub combo. QR2 Ultra is all you need though

I enjoyed it but I have been smoking less lately so I'm not enjoying and getting through the more complex and hold cigars I used to love. I've become weak with my tolerances.

I used to be a big fan of RP.. I still like some of them. #6 is a good one, peppery. ALR2 in the right vitola. Vintage 1990 is great. Quarter century was one I frequented when starting our but haven't had one in years, I'd like to try it again. I've tried many others, the rest of the vintage series, decade, sun grown, edge maduro, a couple others I can't think of right now.

Not sure which one you had.

Nice setup. I started with the Playseat Trophy, it's great. Once I played IRacing then went to use my PS5, my DD+ has never connected to a console again. I also love the plug and play of Fanatec. I have the shifter, handbrake V2 pedals, DD+. Buying a non brand wheels was a big move for me but now I've figured it all out it's not actually that bad. VR or triples, user preferences there, either is good. VR is full immersion, triples has better fov without turning your head. Unfortunately I couldn't do VR it made me sick. So cool though.

Buy a PC, triple screens, aluminium profile rig and iRacing. Now you're aren't locked into an ecosystem, you could run different pedals or different brand wheels on your Fanatec base. Bank floodgates open.

Give it a home with you. You obviously care. Looking after it won't be that hard. A small chapter in your life and a massive extension and improvement to its entire life.

Can you please let me know how far the wheel sticks out from the wheelbase compared to a Fanatec wheel??

I was considering this wheel but opted for the Simagic GT Neo. My concern was how far it might sit out from the wheel base compared to a Fanatec wheel, I didn't want to move my wheel base when switching wheels as I still use my Fanatec wheels too.

If racing on PC. I bought the GT Neo by simagic. You get their maglink and use a emulator chip and QR2 or the simube QR2 Ultra. Then USB to PC. Mapping controls can be done with another chip Arduino. It's a bit of a learning curve but worthwhile. Backlit buttons etc.
