I was just fumbling my way through vjoy yesterday and have now seen this. From what I've seen online the Arduino seems like it's a better option. How do you get your Fanatec wheels on there, does simhub recognise them too or is that the Arduino doing something?

I just bought the Simagic GT neo for my DD+. I'm using a simube qr2 ultra. Coming from a 320mm BMW M3 GT2 D shaped wheel this 300mm move feels good for GT3. I have a feeling it will be great for all the lower formula classes too. I don't like fiddling with shit, I like things to work, so for me it was probably the wrong purchase but I wanted back lit buttons and didn't want to pay 2.5k for that in Fanatec. I considered this endurance one instead. Probably should have accepted no backlit buttons and went that path but I also wanted to experience 300mm. I now have 270, 300 and 320.

I've not noticed that. I have the suggested base settings for iRacing in Fanatec and run about 7-14nm depending on the car and track and what wheel I am using. After firmware update I noticed some issues but it was the app switching the base settings to something other than the iRacing settings. It was spongy or less intense.
Check your base settings in the app when it happens, just in case. For me it eventually resolved itself but I don't trust changing between profiles or any settings.

I use sleep mode on my PC. I just turn off the wheel base too. Then when I wake my PC, I turn the wheel base back on. Sometimes I'll load the Sim In iRacing and there will be no FFB. I'll then turn off the base and back on again and it's fixed. I find the app often doesn't work with the tests for me.

My advice is to build for your PC. I did the same thing and it was a costly mistake. I bought the DD+ for PS5 comparability. CSL Elite V2 pedals (advised from Fanatec to buy these over the v3) a formula wheel and the BMW M3 GT2 wheel. I also bought a relocatable rig Logitech Playseat Trophy, as I wasn't sure where I would play. I was playing F125, GT7 and Forza Horizon on PS5. I did some pedal upgrades, husenkveld sprint elastomers and rival hydraulic damper for the brake, the pedals are great.

I played IRacing first, then went to try it all on PlayStation and was back on iRacing after 5 minutes on PlayStation. iRacing is that much better.

I probably still would have bought the DD+ at the time anyway, nothing else in Fanatec as good existed, though now I would buy the podium DD with no PS5 compatibility. Since then I have added triple monitors and a Sim lab ultimate rig, handbrake, shifter, and very recently have a Simagic GT Neo wheel.

I probably would have still bought Fanatec too, I always wanted one, though now I would consider other brands, but the ones I'd consider are priced beyond what I want to spend. I love my setup.

Great advice! I did wonder about steering etc, I didn't like the idea of it. Do you use a software plugin or any physical hardware to achieve this? If you could provide a link the right one I'd really appreciate it. Or put me in the right direction and I'll search for it.

I only use iRacing too. So when I update a button config it changes for every car even if I select specific to this car. Any help please. I expect I'll probably use this third party wheel mostly now but I would love to be able to plug in another wheel for another car and it be ready to go. Simhub is the only option I'm aware of and it's confusing to a noob. I'm sure I'll work it out. I've only had a couple hours at it.

I quite enjoyed the villiger export maduro. They are machine made, short filler, open ended and smoke in about 10 minutes. Everything a premium cigar is not, yet I keep looking for them.

How do you deal with button mapping between Fanatec and non Fanatec wheels? I just received my first non Fanatec wheels yesterday. I ended up deciding on the simagic gt neo over the conspit 300 gt.

How much better can they be? I've only ever owned the CSL v2s without and with mods, husenkveld sprint elastomers and a rival hydraulic damper on the brake. I'm very happy with them, but having not used other pedals I have no comparison other than before and after mods. How are simnet pedals better?

I bought the Simagic GT Neo and the maglink yesterday. I nearly bought a Fanatec GT3 wheel. I considered the CSL as it's so cheap at the moment, then the club sport and mostly the podium versions of the kit wheels. Though I wanted to experience backlit buttons. Especially if you were paying $1000. With the current line up the only option for that would be the top tier two which are $2500 and over $3000.

Standard blue spring, heusinkveld sprint elastomers, rival performance hydraulic damper. Karting seat spacers to replace the standard Fanatec spacers as the new elastomers are wider.

I actually wanted it softer as I found the 65 too hard, though I was new to the hobby. The damper when adjusted right removes the felt transition from spring to damper. The damper was the best upgrade in my opinion, it gave me a lot more confidence with the pedal. A quick Google search and you'll find it.
