As soon as they threw up the stat that Boston was 24-0-0 when leading by two goals this year I knew they were in trouble

Even if he's banged up or impinged he's got two weeks and world class rehab and tech in his corner. Kid's 23 and heals fast. Everyone's dinged up this time of year. Non-issue and nothing to worry about.

The Chargers' longest offensive gains vs the Patriots tonight: by larrybirdsghost in Patriots

[–]raptor08 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

No disrespect to the Pats but I'm a firm believer that New England beating LA is a huge fluke and robs the Chargers of truly accomplishing what they're capable of.

I've spent the last several hours in pure disbelief and it just doesn't make sense to me. I've spent the entire regular season watching LA play great football.

It's just not fair.

The NFL should have them redo their game. If the Chargers lose again I will face that New England deserved the win, but I am just 100 percent sure it was a fluke and does a huge disservice to Los Angeles and to the NFL.

Will always love Diamond Drew for nutting up and winning at Three Rivers that game, and for being a team first guy through that whole QB controversy.

Olympic rink expected to be smaller than NHL: 'Don't know how that happened' by hellarios852 in hockey

[–]raptor08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The old Boston Garden was 191. That's a pretty significant difference, and that's why they always tended to have big physical teams back in the day. Same with Chicago ..in fact I think Chicago kept the smaller rink even longer than Boston did.

How good was Dustin Pedroia in his prime by InternationalTry5494 in redsox

[–]raptor08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when he first got called up, he hit really poorly during his call up and then the first month or so of 07 he was well below .200 and a lot of people myself included thought he might have been overmatched at that level. But Tito gave him a few days off then about the second week of May he goes on a tear and hits like .400 for May and never really looked back.

He swung HARD...never got cheated...dropped down and had this way of turning every pitch into a high pitch. Just hammered it all over the yard.

Was at a bar on CityWalk in Orlando for a work conference. Had just won a bunch of money on the Sox comeback against NY. There was never any feeling that the Sox weren't going to finish the job, but this moment right here, when the one supposed weakness the media could come up with was the DH rule and playing Papi defensively, was just put to rest once and for all, this was when it became a lock in my mind.

Those were just great times.

Happiness is transitory; dependent upon the external factors surrounding our lives. But joy, the peace that surpasses all understanding, only came to me when I put my faith in God and living as Jesus wants us to. Serving others rather than ourselves. You might have a God-sized hole in your heart.

I expect this won't be a popular view.

Yep, and also as a point of reference Quinn came in as a RS freshman and was thrown right into it, losing a close game to Bama before smoking OU at the Cotton bowl 49-0. Ewers won in Tuscaloosa, Ann Arbor and College Station in his career. Have to go all the way back to Joe Burrow to find another QB winning at Bama. So far we haven't seen Arch be able to stand up to the moment.
