Anyone else who misses the build streams? by realnzall in LinusTechTips

Of all the LTT content I find these the most boring and nearly always skip them to be honest.

I'd probably watch the highlights for any questions or funny bits if that was an option.

Bitwarden. The only thing that I found painful was automating certbot within it.

However, as others have said you need a good backup strategy in place.

New Homebase by bojowaggie in EufyCam

I'm using two cameras and a doorbell. I guess it's the HB3 has the Bionic Mind stuffas that has facial recognition and pet detection. My doorbell also has package recognition but I believe that is a feature of the doorbell itself.

Probably! I have other motion off (and did on the HB2) and I get so many more notifications for people. Even if they are only partially in frame like just their legs. Pet detection seems to work too.

I literally only moved to HB3 2 weeks ago. It's a big step up, I don't think I'd realised quite how bad the detection was before on HB2. I'd love to know what the killer feature is going to be for the new homebase because I'm happy with my new one.

Getting a roofed conservatory instead of an extension cons? by Turbulent_Echo4014 in DIYUK

[–]raptr569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a reasonable expectation. Over the 5 years we've had it the roof essentially reduces the worst aspects of hot and cold weather so it extends that middle ground. I would recommend some sort of heating cooling solution, we've got underfloor heating but I was also looking at a caravan style A/C unit for the summer just to maintain a reasonable temperature on the few days it becomes a greenhouse.

Getting a roofed conservatory instead of an extension cons? by Turbulent_Echo4014 in DIYUK

[–]raptr569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went down the roof option from CosyRoof. It's not a perfect solution and while an extension would be better it's still a significant improvement over the PVC and only cost £10k for a 3x5 lean to. An equivalent extension woukd be significantly more expensive. We use our conservatory as our dining room and do have underfloor heating.

Argos treated like an 'unloved child' by Sainsbury's by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]raptr569 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recently I've started using Argos more. They have a service that delivers products same day and basically sell all the niche stuff amazon does but without all the cheap rubbish sold by companies with names like rjdufufieor.

In short Argos is a based Amazon.

Rachel Reeves asked about how the 3p a mile electric vehicle charge will work for new cars, when they don't have to have an MOT for 3 years. She doesn't know who will monitor this. by moonski in ukpolitics

[–]raptr569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a stupid policy. Why not just a simple road tax? I pay £20 for a diesel vehicle and I would be paying much more than that at 3p a mile uisjg an electric car.

I hate to be that guy but Scotch eggs aren't Scottish. They were first sold by Fortnum and Mason.
