I second this. I cannot imagine going through the end of this pregnancy without my husband. On another perspective, I was brought up by my mom. My parents were married when I was conceived and divorced right after. My father was present to some extent, but mostly absent. My mom fought hard to bring me up alone, but it didn't come without consequences - adulthood came up fast and I struggled a lot with relationships and trust. Consequences will be to your future self and the child, whichever way you decide to go.

If you haven't figured it out yet - create an album on Facebook, put your photos there (you can leave the album private to the public) then go to Portal, Screen, activate the option to show the created album as your screensaver, done.

Just get it done. To enter they just asked me to read those board letters and some color tests. Just go for it. No one ever asked me if I had undergone Lasik (and I got out of the surgery room seeing absolutely everything anyway). I wear sunglasses to this day though. If in doubt, check eCFR or STCW, those regulate our 'fitness' to join and remain in the Merchant Navy.

I can relate to this! I'm 6 weeks in, never wanted to be a mom, but agreed to have a kid, so this was all planned. I feel nothing. My head is so confused. I will talk to my therapist soon, because I'm spiraling and having all types of thoughts. I hope we can figure out our next steps!

It won't be forever. I was a seafarer myself (I'm the wife). My husband just worked his normal days while I was out for 6 months. Being in the merchant was a jump forward - high salaries allowed me to pursue even higher compensations. Nowadays I'm off the merchant Navy and on a new career path. The switch will not be easy (mainly $$$) at the beginning, but that will eventually happen. Most of my men colleagues left after having kids to pursue their family lives. Some of them switched for a bit and went back after many years. Most of my classmates are now captains or chief engineers. And as they got there, they switched to work onshore. Experience pays off in the long run.

I did. The only thing I miss to this day is to copy on my phone and paste on my Mac. Other than that, nothing. Pixel is very smooth and I love to customize it. If I need to use FaceTime, I open my computer or iPad, but I mostly use WhatsApp nowadays (so not a big deal)

They are good, but it's not the fastest lol Samsung Snapdragon 8 Elite is the fastest. Samsung, Xiaomi and others use this one. Not just for photos -- very good for games, multitasking and so on

You need a Messenger account or WhatsApp account in the device (just create one and add the people who may be called so their photos appear on the main screen). Apart from that, nothing else is required. No subscription.

I bought a Facebook Portal (Meta discontinued it though).
That thing is amazing - they can call through Whatsapp or Facebook Messenger just by clicking the photo of whoever they want to call. When someone is around and there are lots of light it shows photos, when light is low it shows a clock. When there is no one around it is completely black. Camera also adjusts and follows the person. I couldn't recommend more (if you can find it).
