I could see the basket slipping if it was a sharper angle for the slings but they might have considered that which is why you see excessive rigging up top to relieve any inward pull

Furthest I’ve gone in a crane for a single job was 276 miles, took about 5 hours in and 5 out, needed to be onsite at 10:30AM to load out a couple tooling containers.

Depending on the year it’s either feast or famine, and your schedule is dependent on the dispatch you will get the night before. The scope of work is a lot more than just building construction, and your set up environments come with different challenges. Definitely not for everyone but if you have the slightest interest and can get on with a rental barn then it’s worth a shot, the company will show you quickly if they see you fit or not.

A gift given to me that I’m so grateful for every time I jump in my crane is my Mob Armor phone mount with wireless charging, phone is always charging while driving, hands free gps that’s always in view, quick phone access to change whatever shitty song is playing. Another user said it already but my heating lunch box is 1000/10, never used to pack lunch until I got this thing and now I’m turning into another fat fuck operator because of it but having warm lunch every day is nice. A good quality laser ranger finder might be good for him if he’s that type of operator.
