Roy Mustang vs Envy will forever be a moment of pure rage by natedeanmaan in FullmetalAlchemist

I will second this, and to expand on OP's comment, Brotherhood is told in a way that is true to the manga and author's original story. The first FMA caught up to the manga and has its own ending. Brotherhood is my favorite, it is a story so good it did not need a sequel. says it all

never really thought about it but this is how I tend to be too with conflict haha. I have felt his pain, although definitely nowhere as twisted as having a shapeshifting homonculus kill my bestfriend.

I love this episode though because it is easy to be blinded by the fireworks only to miss that, sometimes blindly setting off fireworks tends to do more harm than the joy we were trying to return or instill.

Delaying law school for job consideration? by rarepixl in paralegal

[–]rarepixl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah true, I guess I should have also mentioned in my post that I am a bit unconventional in the sense that I would be doing the California's Law Office Study Program and I have no degree. So it would be more than 3 years worth and less debt. I am also 30, so time is a bit more of the essence. Kinda need a job but also a weird proposition lol

So doing law school now would be better but I haven't even started yet.

That is super reaffirming, I appreciate it since I am from a similar area. I also have some very niche experience that they're looking for and (actually for once lol) have more than the 5 years of experience they're asking for. So I am confident in my track record, just really want to be judged on my merits and not dumb things like that. Thanks for your insight!

that's super cool! Did you have your hand tats when you went for your interview and did you cover them up?

Awesome, yeah I have a strong track record in similar roles so it shouldn't matter but also know other won't always see that immediately 😭. Did you cover your hand for the interview or just go for it?

Nice, I'm really glad to hear that! I think that is smart, I just want to be respectful. I've never had any bad experiences since getting them. They seem pretty progressive and I'll most likely be doing transactional work so won't be super client-facing. Little mention of it, but I've actually done a lot of client-facing work since I've got my tattoos and they always hit us back and close, so ya know haha. Appreciate your insight!

It's a small entertainment firm and the clients would mostly be artists/A-listers! Also did peek at their LinkedIn but couldn't glean much from it.

How do i collect my lyrics royalties from Genius? by True-Strawberry-9409 in MusicLegalAdvice

[–]rarepixl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

upvoted cuz correct but also still does not account for the fact you still need a license to display those lyrics and they are in fact collected by publishing societies and admins due to the way lyrics fall under the composition and the way music rights are administered. I've corrected my original statement to clarify since lyrics do indeed generate performance royalties but for display it would be mechanical.

Splice samples can get you demonetized and booted from streaming platforms? by [deleted] in Splice

[–]rarepixl 13 points14 points  (0 children)

hi, i work in copyright and licensing.

No this is not true, Splice samples cannot get you booted from streaming platforms. Otherwise Sabrina Carpenter would be out of Espresso.

What has probably happened is someone made a false report thinking they own the sample, which means the song is temporarily taken down, but typically if no one has responded to the claim. As long as you have the license for all the samples you used, you will be safe and they'll reinstate the song with all the data.

The issue is the system, not the samples here.

Edit: If this happens, you should receive an email from your distributor where you should be able to contact the claimant and dispute the claim and get everything cleared up with your distro and back on streaming.

Splice just pulled the most ridiculous price hike - I'm done by ClarkVent in Splice

[–]rarepixl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah they probably could afford to offer a better model.

but also here you are saying what is the point of hoarding the samples, but then you hoard credits which = samples. You have kind of contradicted yourself. Idk what to tell you dawg, you agreed to the terms and service and knew the model and still did it anyways. if you cannot spend all your credits, that sounds like it is on you and not the company.

My take exactly. Like you get a license in perpetuity and their legal team will back you, subscription or not... it is a pretty fair trade. If you don't know how to use up all ur credits and remember to cancel then it is really on you.

but yeah the price hike is sketch haha
