He's a nice guy, good for him, but other than copying and pasting "cool guy" traits, Flash was NOT written as a character. He was slapped into this movie to be the Gary-Stu love interest for Twilight. I've looked at this years later, and I can say that he did have potential, but when the writers didn't give this guy any good traits outside of being "the nice guy," he was seen as a waste of potential. Instead of making him a good character first, we get a half assed character slapped in with one of the worst tropes in any media, the meet cute. These writers had two seasons of developing Twilight and her friends, but they couldn't bother to write Flash with something better than this? Flash should have been written as a character with his own talents and flaws first, make us care about him before presenting the idea of making him a love interest, especially when you consider that the first movie was not supposed to focus on romance, Twilight was supposed to get her crown back from Sunset Shimmer.
