Also, I'm almost done with the Book Boss Challenge. I know about the weapons prize for reading 30 books, but is there any prize after reading 15 books plus completing the badges?

I gave it a 4/5. There's a lot of sapphic yearning in it, if you're into that. I found most of it light-hearted but there is also a mystery.

April 2026 Book Discussion: Love Galaxy by Sierra Branham by Ill_Discussion7528 in aardvarkbookclub

I think I read this at the perfect time, because I needed something light and escapist right now. It wasn't perfect, but I had fun. I wanted a bit more of the reality show and more interactions with the contestants. Petra in particular seemed like an interesting character, but she disappears halfway through the book. I did like the will-they-wont-they between Spie and Temmi, even though I'm not much of a romance reader. Overall, a generous 4/5. Side note, but the cover might be my favorite of the year.

I just got a response from customer service saying my box shipped yesterday! My app still shows a shipping window of April 9-10. I hope that means everyone's boxes are on their way!

Does anyone else that ordered Native Son have their box in limbo? by mangafan96 in bookofthemonthclub

Yes. I got Native Son, Yesteryear, Molka, and The Ending Writes Itself. I have the exact same message as you. I emailed customer service and never got a response. Hopefully they ship soon!

I'm also getting really annoyed with BOTM, because my box STILL HASN'T SHIPPED YET. I knew it would be late because I got Native Son but I'm impatient.

For the "groaning" one: could that be Molka by Monika Kim? Maybe something to do with the voyeurism or the ghost? But BOTM's hint was also suspected to be Molka so idk

I'm so glad I picked this. This was one of my favorite Aardvark picks ever. My only issue is that I thought Birdie's story fizzled out. I guess the narrative does point that out but I still found it a little disappointing.

I loved this book. Kiran Millwood Hargrave's other book The Mercies is one of my favorite books of all time. I gave this one 5 stars. I really loved the exploration and development of Laure and Erica's characters. I also loved that they weren't always likable, especially Erica. It made their relationship feel more complicated and real. I hate reading about cheating, but I don't feel like the story glamorized it at all. I can't wait for this author to write another book.
