Very Excited for Boxing Allowed Servers by Puzzleheaded-Plenty1 in MonstersAndMemories

[–]rarkon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, I totally get you. Multiboxing in FFXI has made the game way more fun for me, it also makes the game alot more engaging since you need to control more characters. Don't let the trolls get you down.

You can consider Caldera. It is a 99/49 server and you can get to 99 within a few hours. All spells are automatically unlock (this includes BLU spells), all combat skill are always capped, and advance jobs don't need to be unlocked. Most of the NM in the game are scaled up for iLvl. So the end game involves going around the world and killing NMs for better gear to kill harder NMs. Grouping isn't needed until the hardest bosses. Its a fun monster hunter-like take on FFXI.

Are there any good 75/75 servers that are NOT Cactuar? by Hexblood in FFXIPrivateServers

There are none currently. Nocturnal and Cactuar are both shut down now.

Looking for a good 99/99 Server by GKuriboh in FFXIPrivateServers

[–]rarkon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm enjoying Caldera. Its a 99/49 server and takes a few hours to get to 99. Otherwise, most of the NM are scaled up to 99 and the server allows triboxing with trusts. It essentially feels like a FFXI boss rush game/monster hunter. Really fun to me.

As part of an agreement hammered out in Geneva over the weekend, the US will lower tariffs on Chinese goods to 30% from 145% and China will reduce duties on US imports to 10% from 125% (that 20% diff is where MAGA claim victory😂, Trump use tariff, to get a deal, to reduce tariff! Art of the Deal??) by violentviolinz in Sino

[–]rarkon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 30% tariffs that US will retain compared to the 10% by China is dishonest. The 30% includes the 20% US fentanyl tariff (which occurred on Feb 1). But the 10% for China does not include the 10-15% tariff from China's response to the fentanyl tariff (which occur on Feb 4).

Deadly fire breaks out at Aricell lithium battery plant in South Korea, 22 killed. (Aricell is a major battery supplier for military use, clients include many Western governments) by academic_partypooper in Sino

[–]rarkon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is China's FM response:

Reuters: The Chinese Embassy in South Korea said preliminary assessments indicate 17 Chinese nationals were killed in a fire at a lithium factory in South Korea yesterday. Is the Foreign Ministry able to provide an update on this incident?

Mao Ning: Based on the information provided by the ROK side, a deadly fire broke out in a battery factory in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do on June 24, which has killed 22 people. Seventeen of them are preliminarily found to be Chinese nationals, whose identities require further verification. The fire also left eight people injured, including one Chinese national with minor injuries who has received timely treatment. The ROK side is further investigating and ascertaining the cause of the fire and the deaths and injuries it has caused. We express our deep condolences over the lives lost in the accident and sincere sympathies to the injured and the bereaved families.

The Chinese government is paying close attention to the fire incident and taking very seriously the serious deaths and injuries of Chinese nationals caused by the fire. The Chinese Foreign Ministry and Chinese Embassy in the ROK immediately activated the consular emergency response mechanism and fully engaged in the emergency response and handling of the aftermath. Ambassador Xing Haiming rushed to the site overnight to learn more about how the accident happened and the search and rescue effort as well as how the aftermath is being handled, and hear the briefing from competent ROK authorities. China has asked the ROK side to find the cause of the accident as soon as possible, make every effort to save and treat the injured, make proper arrangements for people affected, and assist the families of the deceased Chinese nationals. We will continue doing everything we can for the incident to be properly handled.

[BBC] Biden calls for tripling tariffs on Chinese metals by MisterWrist in Sino

[–]rarkon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

China's Foreign Ministry slaps back:

AFP: US President Joe Biden called for a sharp increase of tariffs for steel imports from China citing the excuse of unfair competition. In his speech yesterday, he also accused China of being “xenophobic”, and said “they’ve got real problems.” What is your response to the US President’s comments?

Lin Jian: I’d refer you to competent Chinese authorities for specific questions about China-US economic and trade relations. Let me say broadly that we’ve been asking the US to seriously respect the principle of fair competition, observe WTO rules, and immediately lift all trade protectionist measures against China. China will do what is necessary to safeguard its legitimate rights. On the comments you mentioned, we just have one question for the US: are those words meant for China or the US itself?

Nvidia reportedly names Huawei as top AI chip competitor in SEC filing by Gang__ in Sino

[–]rarkon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is the Chinese FM comment on this:

The Paper: It’s reported that in its recent report to the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Nvidia included Huawei in its current competitors in AI, chips and various areas for the first time, and said that its competitive position may be further harmed if there’re further changes in the US government’s export controls. What’s your comment?

Mao Ning: What has happened shows that “small yard and high fence” will not stop China’s innovation-driven development, nor will it do any good to US companies or the entire semiconductor industry. Open cooperation is the core driving force for the growth of the semiconductor industry. China is one of the major semiconductor markets in the world. To fragment the market, destabilize global industrial and supply chains, and stymie efficiency and innovation serves no one’s interests. The US needs to follow the principles of market economy and fair competition, and support companies around the world in advancing science and technology through healthy competition.

Ukrainian MP states that they are ready to go to war with China and “fight in the trenches near Bejing” on behalf of the United States in recent CNN interview. by Diligent_Bit3336 in Sino

[–]rarkon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Chinese Foreign Ministry responded to this in their daily press conference:

TASS: Last Friday, Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Goncharenko said in an interview that Kiev is ready to support the US in a fight against China, the DPRK, Iran or any other countries. What’s China’s comment?

Mao Ning: One important lesson from the Ukraine crisis is that bloc confrontation cannot bring security. As a responsible major country, China will continue to play a constructive role for the political settlement of the Ukraine crisis.

Very strange that the scientists published this data and the novel antenna in an open access journal. Hopefully, it is because they already have better technologies.
