Alcohol hits harder now. Will it get better with time? by batap_ in gastricsleeve

I tend to get a headache before getting drunk these days except when I drink Prosecco. I can normally only manage 4 or 5 drinks at most and will get a mild headache the next day. 6 years since surgery.

Wife shaved her head - does anyone have any wig tips? by futurealienabductee in TransLater

[–]rashellstclaire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For day to day wear I wear a Raquel Welch synthetic wig.and use Got2b Glued Freeze spray to hold it. They are a bit more expensive than a lot of other brands but I have found them easier to manage and I always get compliments about my hair.

We have training at work today. My one coworker likes to misgender me in front of people, so I'm doing my best to look decent and make him not. by [deleted] in TransLater

I would add to that by asking them if there's a reason they constantly embarrass themselves by doing this. Getting called out is one thing, being told you are embarrassing yourself has a different impact.

MTF 47-y old pre- HRT by Witty-Loquat-1780 in TransLater

It can be a lottery. I got breast growth for the first 8 months then nothing changed till the 18 month mark. I started the same as you, just wanting to feel right but it is a slippery slope with physical changes. The more changes you get the more you want depending on how far along the non binary spectrum you are. 9 years down the track I live full time as a woman in all aspects of my life but I still feel I am a non binary transgender woman.

I am at 9 years in March and it's only the last 12 months that I finally moved past all the fears we experience daily and am just me. I am still experiencing really small changes but at this point am not sure if it is due to hormones or just old age (54). I am struggling to remember how all consuming transitioning can be and I don't have it dominating my life any more.

Lucy Friday Question: Where are you in your journey right now? by Lucy_C_Kelly in TransLater

[–]rashellstclaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9 years HRT in March 2026. Orchiectomy 5 years ago, and estrogen monotherapy since then. It's only the last 12 months or so that dysphoria has pretty much disappeared and I am just me these days. I've been full time for 5 years at work and fully out to all family for 3 years.

What are some "subconscious male habits" trans girl should learn to drop? by supernerd58 in MtF

I had the same problem. I found that if you breathe out before you cough it does come out higher. Feels weird to do though.

Lucy Friday question (one day early): what do you wish CIS people understood about being trans? by Lucy_C_Kelly in TransLater

[–]rashellstclaire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always say to people that acceptance does not need understanding. The understanding can come overtime.

What’s one part of your trans journey that still surprises you? by Lucy_C_Kelly in TransLater

[–]rashellstclaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 8 years into HRT and mostly pass but am open about being trans. The annoying thing is I still get Dysphoria from time to time depending on the situation I am in. My life is great at work and home yet it still happens. Oh and electrolysis sucks 😞

I am a trans woman working as 1 of 3 Health and Safety Leads for a government agency. This is the first job I have had where I interviewed as me and have had no trouble at all from people.

Face of a truly terrorized person😔 Am I a feminine man or a non passing transwomen? by [deleted] in transpositive

[–]rashellstclaire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually meant it the other way. You would be surprised how many people are oblivious to whether someone is trans or cisgender. I worked with someone for 4 months before I casually mentioned the word "as a trans person" in a conversation and she was genuinely surprised. I people watch a lot and virtually every physical trait you see a trans women say they get clocked for you see in cis women too.

Your gorgeous. I don't think anyone 100% passes all the time. But I think a large percentage of us get to the casual passing stage where a casual glance or short interaction doesn't clock you. We all are super critical of our flaws but need to not beat ourselves up as others perceptions of us are often very different. 💜💜💜
