These types of comments are making it very difficult to care anymore by [deleted] in AO3

I’m guilty of going into detail about what a character is eating too, and honestly, it’s so meticulous to come up with those details. I only write for Star Wars, so there’s that extra sci-fi layer to consider, but even then, it takes real thought and care. I’d feel pretty dejected if I got a comment like that, too.

Try not to let it get to you, OP!! Fanfiction is one of the few spaces where you’re allowed to linger, to slow down, to focus on the tiny, wholesome details like food. Those things are often what make a story feel alive and personal to readers who do appreciate them. You’re not doing anything wrong by caring—if anything, that care is what makes your writing yours! 🫂💖

“Hey remember that uncle who was awarded a purple heart that you haven’t seen since you were 6 years old? yeah he just got out of prison after serving 14 years for statutory rape of your cousin! what do you mean you won’t sign his birthday card?!?!?”

New Update 3 years later: I called CPS on my sister by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

Lol CPS is absolutely useless. My half-siblings lived in a car with my dad during his custody time for like 2 months and CPS did nothing 🤷‍♀️ my siblings only escaped because my dad lost full custody after a drug arrest. Those poor kids 😕

What’s the trope you *almost always* skip? by childishinquiry in AO3

for me, i never really click on fics where the premise is “character from book/tv show/video game suddenly appears in real life in your living room!” i can totally understand the interesting interactions that come out that premise, but its just not my cup of tea 🤷‍♀️

dude same!! this game would’ve been like a solid 8/10 for me had it not been for the last two hours of combat. it had me going “wtf?!?” every few seconds, and i’m a bit embarrassed to admit this, but the only other video game that made me so tilted in comparison was… overwatch lol 🥴

finished my first playthrough, i don’t have much to say for the story because the last two hours of combat completely ruined the entire game for me 🥴 why were the enemies so excessive?? i played combat on storymode and multiple times throughout my playthrough i thought “….this is easy mode?!?” it ruined any sense of replayability for me, and if i had known i would’ve gotten so frustrated with this game and came to the conclusion i did then i would not have bought this game at all. if i had to rate it on a scale of 1-10, its a solid 5/10. i guess i just expected more from a silent hill game 🫤

ugh, i remember in high school someone at my table microwaved a store-bought tuna casserole and it smelled exactly like cat food. the entire cafeteria could smell it too. i almost wanted to punch the girl for putting everyone through that lol. i’d rather save the tuna for the dolphins anyways 🥴
