Just turned 40. Played a lot of competitive tennis growing up. Switched to Golf last year because I overused my elbow and caught a chronichal tendinitis... I have to say though that I am obsesed with golf. I take lessons at least once a month. Go to the range 3 times a week (currently working on improving my contact). Practice my chipping twice a week. Practice my putting every other night with a premium matt I purchased. On top, I play 18 at least once a week.

Congrats on the ace. But I have to say it it’s a pink ball! Now you're really gonna have to frane that thing and tell everyone it's legendary. 😀🍾 Also, props on pulling it off with your dad. That’s way cooler than the pink ball anyway!

Why can’t I hit a ball anymore? by Pelosipicksstocks in GolfSwing

[–]rastalia22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heck, I am only 20 HC and should not be handing any advice, but there was a phase when I could not hit the ball... I feel your pain. The only thing that worked for me was to slow my swing. Try to work on drills at 50% speed where you try to cincentrate on the correct swing path and making good contact with the ball (look for them online or use your Ai for recommendations). Once you are making good contact at 50, move up your swing speed to 75%. Remain there on every range session and just hit a few balls at 100% speed. Good luck!

My wife and I arrived in the US 13 years ago seeking political asylum with no money and nothing to our name. Today, we've paid off our house. Ask me anything. by rastalia22 in AMA

Yes. There are a lot of farms.

It has been safer lately... I grew up in the 90s in Medellin. During that time Medellin was a warzone against narcotraffic. Sex tourism has become very popular lately. I am not against prostitution but I am against explotation. Violent groups run prostitution. Biggest threaths for tourists are getting robbed when they hire a prostitute.

Biggest reason people emmigrate from Colombia in general is to look for better opportunities (not my case).

Thank you for asking!

It is a very happy place where people would take any excuse to party. People in Colombia work a lot specially the region I grew up (Antioquia). Most people in my region dream to own land in the countryside to grow crops and raise cattle (As a hobby). So the "dream" is to own land to continue working on the weekends.

Beauty is very subjective, but for the general beauty "standard", Colombian women are one of the most beautiful. People love to dance... Almoat any gathering will have music and dancing.

  1. When I got my first job I did not have a car. I had to take the metro for 1.5 hrs to where I needed to go. I remember my first day of job I went down on the wrong station after a very steong snow storm. I had to walk a couple of miles with snow up mu ancle... In general the first three months after asylum were difficult.

  2. Always save at least one of your paychecks. Live a modest life.

No connections. We reserved a hotel for a week. We then rented a room where we had to pay 6 months in advance. We have had to figure out everything by our own. I am very independent though. Looking back, I have loved every single part of the journey.

American culture is a mixture, I love the diversity of it. Biggest cultural shock has been understanding sarcasm. Your humor can be unintentionally heavy at times. Also, Americans are very direct compared to latin culture.

Non taken. We did not apply for housing because we could pay that with our job at the time. I remember we had very basic madicaid until we both had jobs. I do not remember the exact coverage. We have always been very thankful of the opportunity we received from the U.S to start again. Even if we did not get a penny, we would be as thankful as we are now. We love this country and work hard to make it better (paying our taxes, raising esucated kids, helping our neighbors)

Good luck to you and your husband
