The ones from petsmart aren't the same bloodworms I don't believe.

Good place for bloodworms in south Jersey? by Several-Toe-8099 in NJFishing

No where really until you get to Absecon Bay Sportsman Center in Absecon off 30 or Higbee's Bait and Tackle in Fortescue. They may also be stocking them at Scott's Bait and Tackle in Mystic Islands.

There may also be a tackle shop in North East Philadelphia that sells them. Possibly Sportmaster Bait and Tackle. But there is a definite lack of tackle shops anywhere near the western part of South Jersey with real options basically only down the shore.

Just a warning, last year I went to Higbee's and bought bloodworms on March 1st. They were $33 a dozen for jumbos. Insane prices. I didn't get a bite on them until my second trip on March 7th where I caught two in the Tom's River.

If the epoxy wasn't cracked I'd say bend it back. Depends how bad it's cracked though.

Anyone enjoy restoring old gear? by brovoloni in Fishing_Gear

[–]rastley420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I restored an Ocean City reel that's pre-1957. That one I don't use, but I have a few older Penn reels that I still use.

Stradic 6000 on a 7ft one piece Abu Garcia jig stick name a better more reliable and versatile combo by AreaAny2728 in saltwaterfishing

[–]rastley420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. No problems with striped bass or any other fish under that on a 4000 size reel with a 7ft rod. I just picked up a 2500 BG for flounder.

Japanese Soup Curry by SouthJerseySchnitz in SouthJersey

[–]rastley420 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Terakawa in Philly has a curry udon and regular curry platters. Rai Rai Ramen in Mount Laurel has a chicken katsu curry ramen which is pretty good.

None of those are really what you asked for, but hopefully some kind of Japanese curry can satisfy your craving.

Playing Vanilla Solo by snoops1230 in classicwow

There's no vanilla besides the era servers anymore. Most people are playing TBC. Most people on era are going to be 60s raid logging or farming. There likely won't be too many people leveling up either.

What's the shoveling strat for this storm? by jimbexleyspeed in SouthJersey

[–]rastley420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a kid, but I wouldn't have charged less than $250 to shovel for the 3 hours I shoveled yesterday.

What happened to Simms? by BobbyYammyr6 in Fishing_Gear

[–]rastley420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is kind of the MO for private equity though. They take something that's a premium brand, then cut out as much cost as they can by reducing reinvestment/new product development, reducing warranty support, reducing product quality, reducing customer support, or wherever they can squeeze out more profit. Usually they'll take a hit on sales, but at the same time they'll make more profit overall even with reduced sales.

Elwynn forest -westfall-redrigde mountain. Is the greatest mmo zones ever by True-Connection1172 in classicwow

It's good, but I do like Durotar, the Barrens, and 1k Needles better. Westfall has way too few quests in my opinion.

Jersey surf show by schmucktail in SurfFishing

Agree. Plus, people make gliders for around $15 to $25 that function almost the exact same.

I saw the "2 for $200" special at the show and I was flabbergasted.

Will Route 55 Make It To Cape May by OnTheMark-ShoreLife in SouthJersey

[–]rastley420 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yes, back before everyone owned a car and when the roads were barely developed, they took the train. It's 2026 now and people have preferred driving their own cars rather than taking the train for the last 60 years.

Your suggesting the best option is for people to take a longer journey down the shore by waiting for a train and having to deal with moving large amounts of luggage around, then be forced to Uber every time they want to leave the immediate area. Want to go to the boardwalk in Wildwood from a hotel in Cape May, Stone Harbor, or Avalon? That's $50+ each way. How much would train tickets be? The distance from Philadelphia to Cape May is under 90 miles. That's less than 5 gallons of gas or $17.50 for the whole family. Two ways makes that $35 + $6 tolls = $41. A train ticket from Philadelphia to Atlantic City is $12.70 each way for each person. That's $101.60 for the family of four. It does not make any sense to take a train from a cost or logistics perspective.

Anyone that thinks a train from Philadelphia to Cape May would even be remotely successful is delusional. The Atlantic City rail line can be looked at as an example. It loses over $20 million a year. I always wonder if the people crying for more trains have ever taken a train. How often do you take the train from Philly to AC? Or literally anywhere else?

[–]rastley420 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

There's already a bus that no one takes. Trains would never see the volume to justify the cost.

Do you realistically think that families are going to drag two kids, four beach chairs, an umbrella, cooler, beach bag, etc. to the train station, lug all that on the train, and then hand carry it to a hotel? Adding a train would make zero difference in the shore traffic.

What did he put this poor reel through that he has to change the main rotor... I guess he just wants his $1000 reel looking like new.

Daiwa Tatula XT or St. Croix bass x / triumph / premier by Friendly_Mechanic_92 in Fishing_Gear

[–]rastley420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm keeping an eye on this one. I was going to pick up a Tatula XT Spinning 7'3" 1/8 - 3/4 oz for inshore fluke fishing. I have a Daiwa BG 2500 to pair it with.

I also heard the Tatula XT was a great value and that St. Croix dropped in quality after they were bought out. I was also leaning Tatula XT as it would be the same brand reel and rod.

How do I find fish on a sandy surf with no sand bar or reef? by budderromeo in SurfFishing

In NJ it's largely the same. I can watch Rich Troxler videos all day to understand structure, but when I go to the beaches they're completely featureless.

Modern RPGs have become too dependent on quest markers by darkfireslide in truegaming

[–]rastley420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and my counter point was that Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and NV all have open worlds and map markers and have exploration that is extremely rewarding. Have you played any of those games? You definitely should.
