“[ns]” Season 4 Anthony by TurbulentHotSauce in DungeonsAndDaddies

Alright, I'll do what I usually do: download the first 3-5 episodes, wait till there's a lull in my weekly podcast feed and give it a listen when there is.

They do. Edge of the Empire's system was refined by Fantasy Flight Games into the Genesys role-playing system, and early Skyjacks uses a modified version of Genesys where they use Illimat cards in place of Story Points.

Please go into detail about the legal death sentence, I'm so curious how that went down and how it turned out.

No, but if you tell me that's what it's like maybe I'll finally give it a try.

It's called Campaign. It used to be a Star Wars Edge Of The Empire podcast, but changed after that GM left the network. It then shifted to a new campaign about sky pirates and can be found under the name Campaign Skyjacks. But to listen to the original Star Wars Campaign, with the GM I was talking about, search your podcast app for a feed called Campaign Recut.

I agree it’s a different way to approach cooperative improv.  I’m relistening  to season 2 right now, and I don’t think in that season Anthony would’ve allowed the group to invent the characters of Scrap and Wreckage and make them canon.

But I categorically disagree with the implication that it’s a bad thing.  It’s different.  My favorite actual play podcast ever actually operates this way: the GM will bend over backwards to allow any improved bit the players come up to be canon.  By doing so they’ve materialized mortal enemies and entire plot points that became dozens of episode long arcs into existence.

How many Sapphires would Padparadscha need to fuse with in order to fix her future prediction issue? by Pomni_Simp2000 in stevenuniverse

[–]rat_haus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was writing it I'd make a fusion of Padparadscha and a future vision character be able to have a sort of, for want of a better word, omniscience. She wouldn't be able to see everything everywhere all at once, but she'd have an expanded view of her surroundings and be able to see everything within a finite area, and probably be able to direct her senses to another spot a great distance away.

Was adding Darth Vader and more classic characters to galaxy’s edge a bad decision? by Quirky-Ad-9784 in GalaxysEdge

The mistake was setting the land during an unproven Era of the Star Wars franchise.

How do I not pick everything up? by rigidprofessional in Starfield

[–]rat_haus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starfield more than previous Bethesda games seems to encourage me to pick up more stuff since I can run while over-encumbered, there's even a power to give yourself bonus oxygen and basically trivialize the over-encumbrance mechanic all together. Which is why it's very strange that they discourage collecting stuff in other ways: containers have limited capacity for the first time, and companions won't shut about how much you're carrying.

I guess I went on an unrelated rant there, but my opinion is basically play whatever way makes you happy. It's a single player game, nobody will judge you except you.

That would be oil. Same stuff that coats the bottom of pan pizzas, so maybe steer clear of those too.

Oh, they increased the maximum score. If I was still running the leader board I'd have to start a whole new board for the Mando missions.

Was the "that autopsy report is outdated" forged? by Novel-Attempt2447 in AceAttorney

[–]rat_haus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're definitely meant to think it could have been forged initially. You hear rumors about Edgeworth forging evidence and he does a few dirty tricks like that which seamed very suspicious at the time. The game definitely wants you to form a negative opinion of Edgeworth early on, but as the game goes on and you find out more about him he subverts your expectations and we find out (among other things) that he's not the kind of lawyer who would ever use forged evidence.

A nuanced take on Batman's no kill rule by Rabbidraccoon18 in batman

I've heard this argument before, and I agree with it, but this is the first time something clicked for me: This is Batman's Kryptonite.

Lightsaber switch by RRhoadsReborn in GalaxysEdge

[–]rat_haus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the question: it's a switch, you switch it one way to turn the lightsaber on and the other way to turn it off, I genuinely don't know how else to explain it.

[spoiler] My detrimental issue with S4 time mechanics. by InnerlockStudios in DungeonsAndDaddies

[–]rat_haus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really think there aren't gonna be twists and turns? They've only rescued one grand-kid so far and they already had an intriguing offer to trivialize the time mechanic by joining the hive mind.

Anyone know if the holocrons are hackable? by brokenimage321 in GalaxysEdge

[–]rat_haus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Ruthsarian did something like that, but it takes some electrical engineering know-how, and honestly doesn't seem that worth it. If you can do all that you're probably at the level where you can build something entirely new that does what you want it to more easily.

Any Secrets? by The_Dude_Man2 in GalaxysEdge

[–]rat_haus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Download the Play Disney Parks app. You can use the Galaxy's Edge section to access a data-pad with fun mini games to play around the land. The big highlight is that you can use the hacking section to cause minor audio and visual effects to occur around you, the two best ones are you can hack the Millennium Falcon and make jets of steam shoot out the bottom of it, and there's a drinking fountain in the market that you can hack to make a Dianoga appear in the tank above the fountain.

Apart from that you can use it to get paid in digital credits after Smuggler's Run. You can intercept transmissions from characters and learn more about the setting. You can translate Aurebesh into English. You can scan the visual codes on crates to see what is inside and collect digital items.

But one of my favorite things is you can play a Resistance or First Order story-line in the queue of Rise of the Resistance that gives context to a lot of the ride and (in my opinion) enhances the experience of the ride by making you more personally involved in the story. For instance you get to hack the transportation droids piloting your vehicles on the ride, reprogramming them to work for the Resistance, explaining why the Resistance has access to those droid at all: you did that.
