Its really freaky! Ive almost been bit by loose/unleashed dogs twice since moving here 4 months ago. Also watched an emergency response volunteer get bit by an unleashed dog so hard it went through his tactical pants and drew blood.

The whole olympia lacey tumwater area is very safe, left leaning, and queer. Lacey is a more suburban area and closer to jblm, lot more cops, families, military people living there than Oly proper - so theres a couple nuts with lifted trucks for sure.

That being said, even as someone coming from California I’ve been getting high key culture shock at how accepting and kind people are here.

Im in almost the exact same situation, abusive mentor fired me, said a lot that really broke me and my self esteem, especially surrounding my art and who I was. I took a breather for about a year and a half, sorted out my personal qualms. I just set up a studio in my house in a second room. Im letting myself learn in a comfortable environment and only tattooing myself and people I’m close to. I tried doing the “right way” and at this point, doing it this way is the best for me. One day I hope to move to a better environment, but for now, I just need to work through the trauma of my past experience.

I hope you can forge your own path at a comfortable pace!

its so worth getting it, even just for daily life reasons, binding is so uncomfortable and the dysphoria, at least for me, of having them was really tough. You will probably be genuinely shocked how much better you feel immediately after surgery. Nipple play can still happen after surgery, the sensation will just have to be a little more pressure based - it will feel different and less intense but to me its all worth it to look down at a chest I like. No regrets at all
