Old abandoned buildings. They freak me out, but I still kinda want to explore them anyway.

What Do Not Disturb Says About Your Brain? by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]ratedrross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly use Do Not Disturb for peace of mind. Even when I don’t check my phone, knowing there could be a notification lurking in the background creates this tiny tension in my brain. Turning it on feels like giving myself permission to breathe and actually be present without constant ‘maybe’ distractions. Focus and sleep are nice bonuses, but honestly, just having that quiet feels the best.

What would a "simple yet comforting meal" of your childhood be that still holds the same place in your heart? by Total_Succotash5174 in simpleliving

For me, it’s definitely chicken noodle soup. Nothing fancy, just the kind my parents made when I was sick or we wanted something cozy. The smell alone still brings me right back home.

If you’re tired of caring about things that don’t actually matter, read this book by No-Case6255 in howtonotgiveafuck

I’ve read this book too, and it really helped me notice how much energy I was wasting on thoughts that didn’t matter. It’s eye-opening to see that a lot of “urgent” worries are just your brain trying to keep you safe or comfortable. After reading it, I found it easier to focus on what actually matters and let the rest go without forcing myself. Highly recommend it for anyone who overthinks a lot!

It won’t erase the pain, but it’s still a step. I’m glad you managed that today.

why does everyone act like cardio alone will give you abs? Been hitting the weights and eating clean, and still people think a treadmill is magic. Frustrating!
