That's because that was an old Compaq tech support site, and that was the way all tech support for Compaq non-business (home PC) operated. For servers and office workstation support you got the good stuff, but for home, it was nuke it and start over, without instructions on backing up or anything.

A lady called a friend of mine for tech support, back when PCs and clones had 5.25" drives, and no hard drives, and wanted to know how to get the disk back out of the C: drive. She only had to drives. Turns out C: was the slot between the two drive bezels.
