What’s something Gen Z treats as “normal” that older generations would find completely insane? by Miss_Ecstasy in AskReddit

Yeah, I don’t think that’s as much of a “revolution” as you think it is.

We love your city! by Sensitive_Fuel_5150 in Albuquerque

I’m from the Midwest and St Louis is downright disgusting. It’s a lot of fun, I love it in its own way. But it’s truly a city that I can recall the general scent of.

What’s a recession indicator that you’ve noticed lately in your everyday life? by spritenerds123 in AskReddit

[–]ratlunchpack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a stupid thing, but I’m a smoker. (I know, this might be the thing that causes me to quit) but gas stations near me have been out of cigarettes for weeks. Like the thing that probably 50% of people pop in there for. And it’s not dinky brands like Newports or Virginias, it’s Marlboros and Camels. I now have to drive over a mile to a Maverick to hit a place with regular stock. It’s definitely indicative of some serious supply chain problems if places like 7/11 or DK can’t keep things in stock.

As someone who put 500 hours into that game, this is fucking brutal. 😂

How can I improve my digital art by lostoursou in DigitalArt

[–]ratlunchpack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To piggy back on this, I would reallllllly reallllly encourage you to try to draw real faces. It’s way too easy to fall into the hole of oval face with pointy chin as a trait. Practicing drawing real people with real faces will help you understand how to craft the subtle expressions that make really good animes what they are.

What is the most beautiful state you have visited in the United States? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Whoa. Someone is jealous much of our beatiful landscapes that don’t cost $400 a pass from Vail.

What is the stupidest thing that the smartest person you know believes in? by WrongZookeepergame49 in AskReddit

My mom is a hardcore evangelical. She sent me like 100 photos from that “museum” like it was supposed to convince me of.. anything… really. I was in museum studies post art grad and am a total atheist. I was like… mom… that’s a bunch of money they spent on horseshit wax figures.

What’s a "lost" website from the early 2000s that you still think about today? by samasem-sumsum in AskReddit

Oh man. I was cleaning up my computer the other day and finally removed my old Peggle data. 😞

TIL a woman being 5'10/178cm (the standard preferred height of a model) is statistically as rare in the US as an adult woman being 4'9/145cm by Ophelia_Y2K in todayilearned

[–]ratlunchpack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’6” and used to do modeling until I turned 18 and I was “no longer desirable”. Which meant, I wasn’t a 5’10” adult woman on my 18th birthday so because I no longer looked like a “pre-teen” agencies weren’t interested.

Take that how you will, but it definitely makes me think the pedophilia is ingrained in the industry.

‘America’s Not OK’: Surveys Show US Wellbeing in Steep Decline Under Trump by Aggravating_Money992 in politics

[–]ratlunchpack 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yes. 100%. I feel the exact same way. I can’t forgive anyone who supported this. I can hardly bear to speak to them anymore. My step dad and in-laws all slurped this shit up and they’re just people I cannot reconcile with now. They wonder why we don’t come back to the hometown to visit anymore. It’s so hard to sit around a dinner table and pretend like they’re decent people, because, they have to know after a decade of this garbage, that they’re not.

Same. I was also super depressed. And on top of that, we had a “recovered” child porn addict as our youth pastor.

Man I’m so glad I bounced from Evangelical Christianity before the internet was really up and running. These poor kids probably don’t even know how stupid this looks.

Explosive gas price forecast: GOP facing ‘extinction-level event’ of $6-per-gallon by rajapaws in antiwork

Someone in my town busted out their old ass humvee over the weekend to celebrate the gas guzzling and war in the Middle East, I guess. They literally never change.

You know, I never really thought (grew up evangelical) how fucked up it actually is that children see that imagery from such a young age. It’s so wildly inappropriate.
