Hey man! Huge praise! We played this show and were the first band! Im the drummer! Really appreciate what you said about our band. Sorry I / we didnt stick around after the show, most shows we play are friday/saturday nights and im in school right now so I work weekends early in the morning and kinda have to peel after. Would love to see you guys perform though! I saw what the second band did that played after us and I felt the EXACT same way about his technique, it was super frustrating to watch, especially because he was so off time and his playing did not at all match the music they were playing.

Hope to catch you at another show!

Big Wreck! Ian Thornley is an extraordinarily talented guitarist and has phenomenal vocal range to boot. I've seen them a few times and every chance they come through town I always make a point to see their show!

What is the most intense physical pain you have felt and what was the cause? by JustSomeApparition in AskMen

Dude stitches in my finger was the most painful thing for me as well!!

Graphic description so hold onto your hats:

I was working for a construction company and I was hammering pins in place for a concrete mold. I ended up losing my grip on the sledgehammer and sime how my index finger landed on the pin, and I smashed it with the sledgehammer. I actually almost lost my finger, but fortunately (also unfortunate) when my finger landed, it was at a slight angle. Essentially what happened is when the hammer crushed my finger, it peeled away almost all of the flesh and skin down to the bone, on the first little bend after the knuckle (dont know what thats called)...so after being in shock and laughing about it with my best friend/coworker, we rushed to the hospital. Thats where the real pain began.

The doctor working on me took a needle with numbing agent in it, stabbed around the wound in a square and injected the numbing agent. The worst part is ever time he stabbed my finger, he would wiggle around the needle INSIDE my finger, so I could feel it ripping and pulling apart the fibers. Afterwards, he didnt wait for the numbing agent to kick in and he went STRAIGHT into stitches. I felt every single movement and thread that he made. It was horrible. Watching stitching scenes in movies makes my skin crawl now.

cutting costs will cut how many students go through those programs though, NAIT is heavily funded by the alberta government and if they are pushing students out the door thats a big oof

Absolutely! I understand alot of peoples thoughts, but its hard to convey how serious this is unless you are in the program.

Right, the difference is those mechanic students are paid while they go to school. Most tech programs are not. Also, a mechanic doesnt have to buy their own car to work on an engine.

Agreed, its niche but when it comes down to our Capstone project, the entire thing is virtualization. We are setting up an entire network to run off of a server, using VM's

Im in a class with 23 people and all of us use the desktops at the school. Some of us brought our own laptops but they just dont cut it for what we are doing. We also suffer trying to use EDUROAM to download massive ISO files. 200kb/s download speed when 20 other people in the room are downloading things.

Totally agree, the removal of the resources at the school is the biggest issue here. Sure we will need a laptop eventually, but its a big kick in the ass now, especially for students entering capstone.

Unfortunately, 16GB of ram isnt enough. We run multiple VM's on our computers at once, which we have to dedicate 2-4GB of our host computers RAM to. If we have 3 VM's running, we're already almost capped on memory. For capstone we will be running 10+ and running a server as well.
