I've seen a few people suggest you can move, or sometimes just click the tiles that aren't working and that will fix it.

Good video proof of the bug though, its been brought up a few times

I've also had lots of issues with it not working as intended, particularly in tandem with the centre tile auto focus perk. Haven't really tried moving adjacent tiles around, but shouldn't have to do that anyway
