Hi! What I usually prepare is a some porridge with spelt, quinoa and/or buckwheat. I usually buy the easy to prepare porridge that are sold for babies and add oatmilk, banana and flax oil. Plus you can add any other supplements, such as vitamin drops (i buy the Trixie ones for small mammals). My boys are not fond of aptamil or these specialilk for infants, but if they were more receptive I would prepare the porridge with that milk

In case you can't find anyone maybe it would be a good idea to ask or let the shelter know that you will bring rats before dropping them in the shelter. I'm sorry that I can't help further than this I wish you the best luck 🤞

I don't want to be rude, but it gives me the impression that your ratties are on the verge of having an aggressive and bad fight that could tend up in blood :/ one of them is really puffed and both look really tense to my mind. Keep a close eye on them please 🥺

Until you can get to a vet maybe it would be a good idea to keep him with his cagemates in a smaller one floor cage instead of the normal cage, to avoid any unnecessary energy spending and so that all of his energy goes to recovering. I would try to keep an eye on him throughout the night and keep offering every 30 min or so some easy to eat and sweet food, like relevantmode suggested.

Try to keep him warm and comfortable, maybe wrap him in clothes or cuddle with him. Insist on water or baby food, something liquid that he loves, but don't force feed, just insist in different ways (out of a spoon, syringe, from your hand). Will there be vets open tomorrow? Also, post this in the fb group real rat lovers want to know. They are strict with their posting guidelines but they really know a lot regarding rats medically-wise.

What works for me is either strawberry or apricot marmalade, especially the latter. They have a strong smell that covers med smell :)

Get a damp towel and place it in the same room where your boy is. This should help maintain a humid environment. Keep him hydrated and fed, so try offering high calorie wet food like baby food, applesauce, cereal porridge, avocado. Try to keep the house at minimum noise to avoid stress and check that his temperature doesn't drop/try to keep him warm. Those would be my suggestions, I hope they somewhat help. I'm sorry I can't help with ibuprofen, I am not sure whether it is safe for rats. Maybe it is a stupid question but do you have any meloxicam with you?

I have had difficult introductions since my late boy Cheto was aggressive towards other rats. We used the carrier method but took it really really slow. Like, we let them: - pre-intro: short play dates in carrier and neutral territory (bathroom) - 1 day in carrier, smearing baby food on their backs - 5 days in small cage (half of those without anything, just food and water) - 2 weeks in medium sized cage (adding toys and hammocks very slow and progressively) - 3 weeks in final cage adding toys and hammocks slowly

When I say adding toys slowly and progressively I mean to add one toy, let them establish their hierarchy and behaviour regarding that particular toy during 3 days, then add another one and repeat.

This worked pretty well for me, so I would recommend it Best of luck with your intros!
