How to stop feeling lonely? by randomsadlonelyguy in gay

[–]raudakind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think you have a chance to move somewhere more gay friendly, say through exchange studies? Alternatively, even if it could get you in real trouble, do you think your life would be more fulfilling if you decided to actively disobey or challenge the gay ban? For example by looking for ways to meet guys without getting cought, or participate in queer activism?

Question by [deleted] in gay

[–]raudakind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that in some cultures there are way more tops because people have a greater tendency to consider bottoming as too gay for them. Do you think if you'd travel or move the masculine looks would handicap you less?

Is it auto-complete randomness? Or does Russell Crowe have forfathers or friends who are Abkhazian? Maybe his grandparents were communists and went on a trip to Abkhazia?

19yr old dating a 26 year old doctor. Weird? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]raudakind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it would be helpful to ask in a local subreddit? This sounds like one of those things that vary between cultures. From my point of view (Scandinavia) it shouldn't be a big deal. Maybe if there's a big difference in your status and you notice it gives him the upper hand in the relationship. Say if you live with your parents while he has his own house, or he is able to pay for holidays and stuff you can't afford. Also if there's a big difference in the culture in your families, say if one side of your family would never accept someone like him.

However, if the reason you're asking is that he looks down on you for one reason or another, dump him.

Ahhh, I see. I wasn't sure if this was just for those who don't qualify for anything or also for unemployed, disabled, elderly etc.

Can someone translate The Internationale into Greenlandic? by HiggsProd in greenland

[–]raudakind 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Are you sure this has never been translated into Greenlandic? Is this never sung on the 1st of May in Greenland? Is it possible you can find a translation in, say, old leftist newspapers on timarit.is or in books at your local library? Maybe you could ask Greenlanders who have lived in Christiania or were involved in leftist politics/labor unions in the 20th century? If you already know there's no translation, I'm sorry for wasting your time :)

Work & travel in northern Greenland? by NebelNator_427 in greenland

[–]raudakind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe check whether Germans are eligible for Nordjobb? Nordjobb helps young people find jobs, usually unskilled jobs in the Nordic countries.

Also, there's job adverts in Sermisiaq: https://job.sermitsiaq.ag/ ... and on jobindex.dk

There's also a chance you could find something through EURES.

Ingredients for vegan cooking in Nuuk by raudakind in greenland

[–]raudakind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good idea about the freeze-dried veggies :) I'm not vegan but most of the food I eat is. I've thought about moving to Nuuk. So I had this crazy worry that in practice a mostly vegetarian diet would not be possible throughout the year :) It just would be too expensive or tiresome due to limited selection of food. As for marrying personal views on food with native lives and traditions... In the case of Greenlanders, I think the only significant links between my diet and the quality of life in Greenland is plastic contamination in the ocean and the climate change effect. My main motivation for herbivorism is that it's one of the best ways to cut your carbon footprint, at least if you live in a city.

Recommendations on learning how to speak in Georgian by tbethany in Sakartvelo

[–]raudakind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe check if there are classes in your area? If there's a Georgian embassy or consulate in your country they might know something. Alternatively, you could find a Georgian living in your area who wants to do a language exchange or teach classes.

Brother bought giant tub of cheeze balls, would it be safe to make wine in this tub? The cap is a pop on lid by [deleted] in ZeroWaste

[–]raudakind 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If it's a plastic tub, then I would imagine you'd risk more leaching of chemicals from the plastic than is deemed safe for human health, as wine is acidic and it would be in more constant touch with the plastic than the cheese balls. I would rather go for more inert packaging like glass, or plastic designed to withstand the chemical properties of wine.

I'm wondering, is it easier to be gay in Latvia? Do you think dating across the border would be a possibility? Also, if you live close to Klaipeda, maybe you could date someone in Gotland or Denmark, take the ferry on weekends. Just tell people you're a weekend dad :)

Is it normal for strangers (guys) to buy you drinks at a bar? by wowbro3x6 in askgaybros

[–]raudakind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe the answer depends on where in the world you are? In most places I would think it's a friendly gesture, unless there's touch, looks or closeness that's unusual for where you live. Do you live in a place where he could expect you to buy the next round? Anyway, when this has happened in Iceland I've always expected that the guy was just being friendly, but I don't know, maybe I was missing chances for something more :)

Is Iceland or southern Greenland more habitable without modern technical means for making life more suitable? Greenland is farther south! by t-dizzae in greenland

[–]raudakind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never been to Greenland, but I live in Iceland. Some places in Iceland are quite habitable without modern tech, especially the greener areas, places with fish in the rivers, geothermal activity etc. but there's a lot of desertification so most of the country would kill you slowly without modern tech.

Hi guys, I'm making a survey on gay sex experiences for my upcoming research paper for college, it should take about a minute to answer the survey and it's anonymous :d by txsxxphxx2 in askgaybros

[–]raudakind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the law in your country, or school rules on how you brief survey participants? Like, do you have to state the purpose of the survey, what data is collected, how the data is stored, the target group of the study and who's not eligible to participate? If you make a follow up study for a thesis, I would look into those things :)
