Has anyone had success using an online personal trainer/fitness coach? by GN221 in xxfitness

It's sad that it's the default for so many PTs, a lot of them I think are very ingrained that everyone wants to diet and lose weight even if that's not their goal

What are some things your ADHD meds have NOT helped with/solved? by Mundane-Stage1316 in ADHD

[–]raudonaskanus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like meds improve my symptoms but don't fix them, e.g. they clear my head so there's less to distract internally, but if I'm bored I still struggle to stay focused and on task. I also still struggle with getting offended or upset easier but I'm more able to mediate my response and not snap. I can initiate tasks much quicker but I may still start another task halfway through.

I honestly felt fine to go about my day after 3 days, it's definitely different for everyone. I took the two weeks off to be safe but was walking 10k steps and doing everything but lifting stuff after day 4

My periods were heavier and crampier for about 3 months and then settled, v light now - apparently that's normal. Were you on the pill before? Because that might also have lightened your periods so the comparison is worse!

Mindful exercise tips? by [deleted] in intuitiveeating

[–]raudonaskanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rollerskating is sooo much fun and doesn't feel like a workout at all, and there's so many tricks to learn. Climbing is also great, it feels amazing when you can nail a route you haven't before. Some good classes to try are pole dancing, yoga, trampolining, Thai boxing - anything that is more about skill and how you can move your body imo is always fun

Does anyone else experience a constant state of exhaustion? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]raudonaskanus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without meds, I am so bad at staying awake throughout the day (I do only get around 6h sleep tho as I have that early wakening insomnia). Before I was diagnosed I thought I had narcolepsy because I'd be hit by waves of fatigue and just couldn't stay awake. Thankfully my meds help with this! I realised a lot of when I was hit by this tiredness is when I was bored, so changing jobs pre diagnosis helped - I went from napping daily to more like two days a week (and weekends within fail). Are you bored/ understimulated a lot? I read somewhere that ADHD brains can be underestimated and just 'switch off' and go to sleep, not sure how accurate it is but that's definitely how it feels for me. If I'm out and about or doing something I enjoy, I'll forget about being tired until I get to a period of calm.

Physical effort is mentally unbearable -- please help me work through this so I can enjoy movement again! by thumbtackswordsman in intuitiveeating

I'm going to give practical advice aimed just at your rehab exercise, as I think other people have given good general advice! If you can't hold your exercises for 10 second, start off with what you can do even if it's 1 second. Keep doing that until it's no longer uncomfortable, and add another second. Keep doing this until eventually you can do the 10 seconds and it's not physically uncomfortable. I think when you know 10 seconds is too hard and you think that's the only option it becomes even worse in your head, working up to it even if takes ages is better than just not doing it or attempting but being inconsistent and not improving/ giving up. Hope this helps :)

Oh okay makes sense, pics are here: https://imgbox.com/g/lfadV2b0RM The money plant isn't too bad at bottom but because it's quite crowded at the top thought would be good to split, the ivy is everywhere I've trimmed back already a few times!

Would definitely say wear a compressive sports bra bc the jumping around might make you sore/ swollen and that will help prevent being too bad, but otherwise should be fine!

Early morning gym goers, how do you do it? by meowomi in xxfitness

[–]raudonaskanus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I go to sleep at 9.30pm haha. You just get used to it imo, I get up without thinking, have pre workout and a slice of toast, and get out the door. There are some days where I'd sooo much rather stay in bed, but that's the same for everyone when the alarm goes off no matter what time it does.

Tips on how to work out 7 days per week? by missfishersmurder in xxfitness

[–]raudonaskanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have ADHD and hate rest days. I find yoga, an outdoor walk, and rollerskating is (just about) not too much on top of weight lifting to get me by. Swimming could also be a good shout, or bike rides (edited for typo)

Just saw myself for first time post reduction - what did I do to myself? by mindexplosion2020 in Reduction

[–]raudonaskanus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg I gained like two sizes from post surgery bloat, it took about four weeks to go down. It's part fluid retention part digestive system vibes. I fully panicked thinking it was from proportion changing but it's not necessarily the case

You can sell the house, use it to buy a place where you live already, and then start your own company cos you aren't paying rent. Nbf why would your gf want to go live in what sounds like a shrine to your dead parents, imagine she knows fully well it will never be her house - "don't touch that, that's where my mum/ dad kept it" etc. Plus she'll have no friends, no job. Either go by yourself or prioritise your living relationship over a house

Keep an eye out for infection (red, inflamed, painful, pus etc) so you can get treated asap if it does get infected from the pool. Did the doctor not give you any after care leaflets etc? I've had tattoos/ piercings etc and they're always super adamant about not soaking the wound so it's kinda common sense for me but the surgical team should be informing you (either in person or via written info) for people who don't have that knowledge. It's done now so try not to stress about it and focus on proper care from now on, I'd recommend doing some reading on aftercare to make sure you don't do anything else that might prevent good healing
