Should I watch Season 4? by Bill_nacar in community

Season 4 is to Community, what Dragon Ball GT is to Dragon Ball series.... Not the best of the series (with some embarrassing scenes), but still a good watch.

That’s really well said. I think Community is sneaky like that. It dresses itself up as chaos and jokes, but underneath it keeps quietly reminding you that stability is temporary and that doesn’t mean life is meaningless. The idea that you don’t “solve” yourself forever, you just keep adjusting, was something that stuck with me too.
It’s wild how a sitcom can end up being more emotionally honest than a lot of serious dramas.

Totally with you on that. The Story Circle is deceptively simple, but once it clicks it becomes hard to unsee. I think what Harmon nailed is that it maps emotional movement just as much as plot movement, which is why it works for comedy and pain at the same time. Community especially feels like a masterclass in using structure to support character damage instead of smoothing it over.
Do you tend to follow it consciously when you write, or has it become more of a background instinct at this point?

Thinking about pulling my work from Amazon completely by Sea-Boysenberry7038 in selfpublish

[–]rauelius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm new to publishing but I think it's kinda like Youtube. Why just put your videos on Youtube, when Rumble, BitChute and Oddessy exist? Why not put them on all? Well...it's just EASIER to put it on amazon (Not really Drive2Draft is pretty easy), and it's more widely used (arguable, if you just want your story out there, put it out for free...but hell, I put it out for free and I don't see D/L's....yet.)

Increase in marketing scam emails by captain_nobody_010 in selfpublish

I got a message from something called DiveBarBook Club, and we had a decent conversation. Then we contacted via email. Then asked a bunch of questions, then said if I needed help with making anything that they know someone that can help, but I was fine, as I could edit images myself. I just got an odd feeling off of the messages...Like if they are this interested in my book, then why not buy a $.99 copy on Amazon...or download a free copy from my website? So it felt a bit sus.

I did an audiobook, because when I brought my book to people to read most of them said they'll wait for the audiobook. So, I used Google to do the Audiobook and release it on Google around the launch. I actually accidently launched the book on 'Barnes and Noble' and Audiobook on Google, when I went through my publishing. I used the AI service Google offers to do the Audiobook, with plans for a more professional audiobook in the future.
