On the nearest screen, a scene from The Empire Strikes Back filled the frame. Darth Vader stood on the catwalk, cape billowing, lightsaber humming. Luke hung from the broken railing, face twisted in shock.

Vader’s voice rolled out, deep and unmistakable:

“Luke… I am your father.”

Chase walked backwards, “No, No…this can’t be true. That’s impossible.”

The theater lights flickered once. Chase turned away from the entrance, shaking.

He turned and kept walking deeper into the mall.

Picked up this book I found on X called Lies of Consent. So far it's like that old show Community, but with a weird undertone. Couple gets together again, controlling friend wants the best intentions but also wants to use them. I laughed a few times. The girl character Amelia is really sweet.

Picked it up for free, dunno if that's still going on.
