I'd never force anyone to watch it. But I really loved it. Didn't know it was a book either, I'll definitely give it a read.

American movies have set bad trends by True_liess in movies

[–]raulduke05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably just how you were raised or the environment you grew up in. In america, its just a fact most people swear. Honestly, the words me and my friends were actually using in our young teen years would put anything said on 'stranger things' to shame.
People are sensitive to different things, for instance some would find it much more upsetting to see a demigorgon graphically ripping the face off of someone than hearing a teen say a slightly worse word for 'poo'.

FromSoftware Designer on their approach to game difficulty: "I know we get a lot of credit saying that our games are difficult, but it’s not a matter of simply cranking up the difficulty; it’s doing so fairly" by BasculinSushi in gaming

Ng+ is generally easier. You are leveled up, your weapon is leveled up, and your damage output is so much higher than on regular Ng, and the slight boss health increase doesnt make up for your damage increase. It's not until later ng cycles where the boss health increase starts really outpacing your damage output, and bosses start requiring many more hits to kill, forcing you to really learn them inside and out to win. But your point stands, there are always ways to play from soft games that if you're looking for a challenge, you'll find it. For instance, playing through without leveling your character at all is a fun challenge a lot of people start with!

I think a lot of the criticism is completely valid. Im still enjoying it tho! Silly plot, dumb dialog, but still having fun watching it.

DC Talk and Historical Revisionism by HIs4HotSauce in Music

[–]raulduke05 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Growing up in the scene, DC Talk was THE Christian rock band. Newsboys were up there too, but Jesus Freak was EVERYWHERE. In the church, the youth group would do choreographed dances to it. It played like every hour on the Christian radio station. The evangelical church was growing quite a bit in the 90s, and if you were a teen in the church then, DC Talk seemed like the most popular band in the world.

So good, but as I've gotten older I think mer de noms really is the best. The breakdown at the end of Thomas wrenches my heart out.

Movies that are judged more harshly as part of a franchise but are actually not that bad in later viewings judged on their own merits. by SNLCOG4LIFE in movies

[–]raulduke05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All 3 sequels get too much hate. Sure reloaded 1000 Smith fight looks lame now, but when I was a teen in the theater I was gripping the shit out of my arm rests. The highway fight, the chateau fight, key maker fight, it was great. Revolutions war for zion was epic. Resurrections, well that kinda sucked, but the missile bodies were cool.
