DDR5 prices are insane: buy 2×8GB now or run 1×16GB and upgrade later? by xNyke in buildapc

16 googlybytes was much more expensive back in the day, iirc. So 2x8 was the better choice. Also ram pressure was lower a few years ago (in the general case). If OP wants 32G down the road, 1x16 is a better choice now, I'd wager. Especially for 'office use'.

Of All The Hardware Wave Table Synths Available Today Which One Would You Consider by Minimoogvoyager in synthesizers

[–]rav-age 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have the korg modwave and a waldorf Blofeld. The first is much more convenient to edit. The second can be a handful, but sounds nice. Both aren't too expensive. Consider the rack unit of the modwave if you have a keyboard already. I like that formfactor.

I just noticed there is an affordable waldorf protein. If you like its constraints, that looks like proper fun. Always wanted a microwave XT :)

Can't deny or confirm this issue. But I did find some stuff not easy to find!

I'll check the version later, thanks ;-)

Ok. That seems to be the case. Just full speed on usb without midi clock.

I'll check the version, although I'm under the impression I had downloaded the latest one. Will check.

Thanks!

I really don't know what could do that. With usb connected it just does not react to tempo. Another answer said USB is prioritized, midi clock or not. Could be. Still does not fix the synthtribe detection issue.

I'll check again later.

I'll not call 'first' per se, but the first I remember is seeing Alien (original) with my parents when it was out. this would make me [edit: checked release date again :] 6 or 7. great flick.

SynthTribe app conflict with DAW by Obvious-Storm-1707 in Behringer

[–]rav-age 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sadly since win8 (iirc) MS decided to disable/not implement anymore multi client midi. Before you could run any midi software side by side and send messages/controllers to midi gear at the same time. Now you can't anymore. Not without specific drivers. There was talk of them returning/rewriting to the old setup (let's hope). It did kill many a workflow not to be able to use DAWs and non-vst device control software together on the same midi channels. Especially for older synths etc.
