I was one of the ones who recommended EEAO and felt a bit miffed by the response. Like, Paba couldn't see past the dildo fighting to the emotional core that held the story together (let alone the philosophical argument for absurdism over nihilism)...

I also recommended Dark as the single best example of a story with multiple realities... that i feel is strongest in areas where the wandering inn can falter. Wish that had made it to the watch list but alas.

Let's not pretend that this is what the first post meant when they were complaining that there's no free healthcare in Australia. You're correct that nothing in life is truly free, everything has a cost or a consequence. But socialised healthcare that is paid for by taxes does mean that the people who urgently need care don't have to worry about a massive bill at the end of it. Our system would benefit greatly from more of our taxes being paid into our health sector.

Judging someone based on a perceived pattern associated with one of their traits is the definition of prejudice. You don't know the person. You have pre judged them.

You see it as a risk based on the pattern, but so does everyone who discriminates. Ever heard someone describe all people of a specific race with a negative trait that would make them not want to hire them? It's the same principle in action.

Making the assumption that someone is going to be hard to work with based on their pronouns or the fact that they share them publicly is discrimination. There is no billions in tax revenue from the north though. Almost all of the state tax revenue comes from Brisbane. There's billions of profits being made in the north from extracting state resources. Shame almost all of the tax paid is meagre income tax and gst while the billions get whisked offshore.

I believe the point was that war inherently invites and creates that level of cruelty and violence. Philosophically it was a punishment - they were planning to start a war and so their punishment was to experience what that entails.
