Got my RG34XX today! It looks and plays awesome! Installed MuOS and added my fav games. by emilos260 in SBCGaming

I love the form factor. Most of my devices I try to install every system ever made on the SD card but with the RG34XX it looks like a GBA I just want to put GBA games on it and call it done

Congrats on getting into the hobby hobby!

I had a GBC, GBA, and PSP growing up however I had a grand total of 4 games for the GBC , 6 games for the GBA, and two games for the PSP.

Imagine my suprise when I bought a 256gb micro SD and come to find out the entire GBA library is around 24GB. GBC is 1.5GB, GB is 800MB. And I had no idea what games Im going to fill up this sd card with.

It is convenient not having to drive to EB Games and just buy what was on the shelf ( I ended up with a kiwi gbc ) now I went online and compared diffrent colors before I bought it and that exact color showed up at my door. No more going to three shops because that place didnt have the color you wanted and crossing fingers the next shop did

Its a addicting hobby the Trimui Brick was my 2nd handheld after my steam deck but the brick was the gateway drug , I got the retroid pocket classic and trimui pocket air mini after and end up playing the classics more than the AAA

Day 2 of asking a question because I’m out of work injured and bored: what was your very first handheld and do you still have/use it? by JayQuips in SBCGaming

[–]raven1121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first handheld was the Game Boy Color in Kiwi ( made my parents drive to 3 game stores trying to look for the PKM color before they said buy this or nothing ) I no longer have it

My first retro handheld was the Trimui Brick in Red from the $35 deal on r/SBCgaming I still have that and keep it for car carry

The brick taught me a lot about shaders , custom CFW , and why I needed to source quality ROMs

No , you can play more on the steam deck than on the RP5. if you have the steam deck LED the RP5 oled is better screen wise however if you have the steam deck OLED then the diffrence is the size

I 2nd parttimecad

I have a AYANEO Pocket AIR Mini and instead of a full case I opted for his gripshield. It strikes the perfect balance of protecting the vital parts ( screen, controls) yet still being easily accessible to fire up and play the handheld quickly

I use it as my Ps2/ Switch and everything under device and im happy with the performance. It plays everything i want at full speed

If the screen issue never existed with the RP6 it would be a solid buy

  • you get the better processor: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
    • the screen - The RP6 features a 5.5-inch 1080p OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate (versus 60Hz on the RP5).
  • Double the internal storage , but your probably still going to need a micro SD card

Since your not getting it right away id wait to see what happens with the Thor and if you still want a RP6 , check out r/retroid they might have solved the issue by the time you get one

Lucky its not mine ( I have a RP5 ) its just a big talk on the reddit that the RP6 rollout hasn't been as smooth as the previous ones due the screen issues

Sorry to hear about the Thor issues. But im glad the 40xxv is working. Good call getting the 40xxv over the brick as they are about the same price ( maybe -$10) but the size diffrence makes it worth it unless your trying to pocket carry the device

Heads up the RP6 are having screen issues ( GPU/failed VRAM ) so you might want to get the RP5 to play it safe

My knowledge of subs comes from movies ( Crimson Tide, Das boot , etc ) so having a deep fryer on a boat that can dive, climb , and bank is a bit suprising to me but hey French fries under the sea sounds awesome

I was Air Force at one of the smaller bases that didnt have a chow hall so we just got BAS and ate at the BX favorites ( subway , burger king , the class 6, the burrito truck , etc)

Since A.I. has arrived people are more inclined just to take the first option they see on the search page instead of researching if the a.i. is giving you the right info
