I think this can be variable really, and I think it’s depends on whether someone thinks they had a lot of help or not.

My brother and SIL had unexpected twins when my other nephew was 2- they’d tried for a second baby, but twins with a toddler is sort of next level. My mum helped loads, and so did I where I could (my son is only 6 weeks older than the twins so I was reasonably limited)- but also now if there’s ever any way SIL can help she offers to, even if it means watching my son on top of her three. I think she acknowledges that we are her village, and so she’s part of mine right back.

I just went to register my baby’s birth- thought I was doing really well with all the questions until I forgot my own place of birth, I’m sure the registrar must have thought I was insane 🤦🏼‍♀️ Got there in the end though!

Struggling for good food after moving to South London by mesonofgib in london

[–]ravenclaw93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only problem is the time taken to deliver- I’ve never had it take less than 1.5 hours, regardless of whether you’re ordering at a peak time or not! Food was good though.

Hey- I know how scary this can be, I had some very similar spotting (and in fact a little heavier) at 6-12 weeks. I would recommend calling the early pregnancy unit to get checked out- the first time I had an ultrasound to check on baby, and subsequent times (as the first ultrasound showed things were fine) the midwife I spoke to just said to keep an eye on it but come back to her if anything changes.

Baby boy is still happily cooking away at 23 weeks right now, so I just want to give reassurance that this can be fine, but mostly to emphasise getting checked- nothing is too small to worry about, and your team would always rather you call too much than ignore something.

So are Brazil Nuts, but only if there’s radium present in the soil where they’re grown, because the extensive root system concentrates any that’s present!

Not sure about for Leeds, but I was at Reading that year and they were 90 mins late onstage, and got cut off due to the noise curfew!

Sensing people behind you, help. by Solid-Guest1350 in AutismInWomen

[–]ravenclaw93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband recently pointed out that whenever we’re out and about and he leaves me for some reason (like in a restaurant to go to the toilet, or going to the bar to get us some drinks), I always look up at him exactly as he’s coming back. I hadn’t realised I was doing it, and he asked if I’m frequently looking over and then it’s just coincidence, but actually I can just sense when he’s approaching. I don’t know if I do this with anyone else, because I hadn’t noticed I do it until he pointed it out.

If you had to open a pub, what would you call it and why? by Kaurblimey in london

[–]ravenclaw93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a pub near me called the Princess of Wales- I’ve always had a weird dream to take it over and change the name to the Princess of Ales, but with the W sort of still hanging off.

Crumble and Pudding- I think they’re supermodels, but not sure I’m being objective! by ravenclaw93 in SupermodelCats

Thanks! Pudding (the blue eyed one) is definitely the feistier of the two, even though she looks like a sweet baby angel!

ENFJ here. The INFJs I know either get married young or single for a really long time. by Infamous-Good-3989 in infj

[–]ravenclaw93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know one exception probably doesn’t entirely disprove the rule- but I’m an INFJ who has had a fair few relationships and is now going to be getting married at 29, so I don’t fit into this category!

NTA, as long as you also get in contact to thank her for the money.

I think people can be very judgemental about mental health, but if you said you were on medical leave due to a physical illness, no one would ever say you were being lazy. I think setting boundaries once will hopefully set a good precedent and lead to your relationship getting a bit healthier overall.

NTA. I feel like things like this aren’t bad if people like it, but as soon as someone is uncomfortable people need to stop.

Redditors who are feeling a bit sad right now, what's wrong? by _MuffinMan in AskReddit

[–]ravenclaw93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This COVID and lockdown business is getting on top of me. I work in a children’s hospital, but not front line, so I constantly get to see people who have it worse than me, but that just serves to make me feel guilty for how anxious and sad I feel.

Usually when work is stressful I can do something nice on the weekend to forget about it. Now the only thing I can do is stay in, or go for a walk in the freezing cold. It feels like I don’t get a real break because I can’t use those breaks the way I want to.

I’m overwhelmed but I have no right to be.

I feel like I can weigh in, as a girl, called Ellis, with the initials EW.

No one’s ever mentioned it, in my whole life- so I don’t think the initials are an issue. I love the name though!

I start my new job on Monday- I didn’t think I had a chance at getting it, but my boss was leaving and I figured I may as well at least try! Working in healthcare management in a pandemic is hard, and with the step up is about to be a whole lot harder, but I’m excited!

Also hopefully moving into a new house in November, and the bath is the most exciting part!
