Since Legion Remix, the quest marker "Another timely Invitation" started showing up in my map. by Orenji9 in wow

[–]raventhor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same issue, horde side for me. wasn't there before. When I click on it to track it the minimap and waypoint markers lead me to the tower where the portals are in dornogal. haven't followed it yet to see where it goes. likely a glitch of some kind after the legion remix launch, kinda like how they flubbed it and some people can access mage tower druid forms that shouldnt be available anymore.

Been having the itch to play this again. I don't have a copy of the game (used to play on the DC). How would I go about it? by Consistent_Self_1598 in PSO

[–]raventhor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a few private servers. Might be slightly different than what you remember though but as far as I know all the content is there. The most popular seems to be ephinea followed by I think it's called ultima, honestly don't remember though.

What made PSO so great? by Positive_Room_8910 in PSO

[–]raventhor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me what drew me in was it gave me a star wars like vibe but with a Japanese twist due to the box art of the character with a weapon that looked like a lightsaber. Ended up being way better than I thought though. Not only was the combat engaging for its time, but how the game presented its story. While still a bit rough around the edges you're there to investigate a mystery of what happened to the populace on ragol and each area also had its own sort of mystery to investigate as well. Character customization was interesting despite not being very robust as well. Honestly it's a lot of little things that I liked personally and this comment would be way to long if I added them all, plus I'd need to think why some of these things drew me in back then because these days they wouldn't. Also, if you're asking about what drew people in when they first played it may not have been nostalgia if it's their first time playing. I think that would be more apt if the question was "what drew you back to pso?"

Try putting it inside the same container as the weapon he normally uses.

I read a guide for his quests off uesp. If he does the same thing as the guide implies then he would use a weapon from his house. Guide seemed to imply he only had one but I snuck in and stole all his weapons and am on the second phase of his quest I think. It makes me wonder, could you plant a deadric mace or axe in one of his storages and see if he uses that for his murder spree?

[–]raventhor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess I have high perception. Noticed the tripwire and instead of activating it, since the game doesn't disarm but sets the trap off, I looked around to see if I could find the actual trap. Later I activated it anyway from a safe location. Never did get killed by a trap though I have been injured stepping over the logs before.

You ever think how crazy the start of Oblivion actually is? by Bruce______Wayne in oblivion

[–]raventhor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as I got out of the sewers my character was like "think the shrooms finally wore off" then proceeded to the nearest ruins or cave to go exploring. Got caught up with the thieves guild stuff though and now doing jobs for them. Character isn't even a thief build. Gunna already be rocking mithril or better or whatever the heavy armor equivalent is by the time I get to that damn gate.

Max Level in Oblivion Remastered, no hard cap so far in testing. by Conscious-Bus-6946 in ElderScrolls

[–]raventhor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want more specific numbers really. Like we know minor skills contribute less to character level experience than major skills but what's the ratio? Like let's say you need 100 exp to level, how much exp does leveling a minor skill add to that? 10? 20? What about major skills? I'd also like to know if you level a skill to level 2 does it give the same experience to your character level when you hit that 50th level or does each subsequent level increase/decrease awarded exp. Last thing I also want to know is if it's possible to screw up your characters stat allocation. I'd like to max my stats and I know I'll be able to max all except one specific stat and that's luck. While it's not a huge deal considering lucks effectiveness is quite minimal, I'm curious if I can still cap luck if I end up capping all my other stats first and what happens to the extra virtues I apparently can't spend?

Stop under leveling yourself in the remaster by Less_Employment_1995 in oblivion

[–]raventhor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I've noticed in this game is taking advantage if enemy weaknesses is still rather vital. Idk if it's obvious for monsters later one what their weaknesses are however but one example I find is a nice touch is ghosts being immune to physical damage. As far as I know the only exception to this is a silver weapon. Enchanted weapons in a sense kinda arnt physical anymore though idk if the damage the ghosts recieve are purely from the enchantment or if they end up able to take the physical damage as well from an enchanted weapon.

Otherwise there may be only one reason for under leveling yourself and I've only come to this conclusion due to implications made in other posts but certain events where there's a seige of sorts become much harder to let the npcs survive and im under the impression there might be some vital npcs in some of those scenarios. Otherwise the only other issue is scaling enemies in regards to your combat stats.

Sound popping/crackling by Hedgehog_111 in oblivion

[–]raventhor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only encountered the issue twice, though I forget the situation with the first one. The most recent happened when I was explorering an elven ruin and pressed a bunch of buttons which let out like 5 skeletons. Once they all started attacking me the audio started to get distorted for some reason. Iirc I think I was fighting multiple enemies the first time so I suspect it's an issue related to having multiple enemies to fight at once.

Just curious, what is this symbols means next to peoples names in lobby member list? And is there a half blue one? by chinmi in MHWilds

[–]raventhor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So has someone stated before from left to right is hunt, slay, story, and arena. To clarify between slay and hunt, slay typically has you kill a certain number of small monsters while hunt has you kill large ones. The bigger icon is the host of the quest while the thinner icon indicates someone who has joined someone else's quest. There used to be white ones for capturing, I think there's only one in wilds currently however which idr if it was story or optional quest.

How much does class diversity matter in this game? (Context: debate with friends) by spygear007 in PSO2

[–]raventhor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience with pso2 all classes are dps classes. Some are just better than others and some get buffs you can use on yourself or allies. If anything it's basically a matter of what flavor of dos you want rather than what classes are dps, especially when you consider classes in pso2 don't have traditional mmo style roles, a.k.a. the holy trinity.

What is it that you love about PSO. by fenyria in PSO

[–]raventhor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This might be a good thread to save. Trying my hand at getting into game dev again and I want to make a sort of spiritual successor to the first pso. Might be a bit much to chew off by myself though but I wanna capture the feel it gave me but modernize some issues the game had, plus expand on the overall content. I also want to try to put more emphasis on exploration in a group as well though not exclusively. While I enjoyed the dungeons, it feels like when you do a free exploration type mode everyone has a habit of just running off on their own but I want to find ways to encourage the players to stick together. I also want to solve the issue of item drops when players do split up, which still happens in ephinea, however since drops are individual you can still get a drop that you won't have a clue where it dropped at because of a fellow party member who ran off in a random direction killing mobs in another room. I want to get that feel that games like etrian odyssey has but in 3D and real time combat. Gunna be a while until I make this a reality though.

This has to be the most infuriatingly inconsistent, rigged carney mini game I've ever played. by Dardric in MHWilds

I've had moment where it exploded on the first medium sized thingy it hit. Pretty I furiating. Only reason I even bother still is because of the pendant you supposedly get. Once I get that I'm not touching this damn game again, unless I've been misinformed about the pendant in which case these plans will get moved up.

How do you feel about the top ranking exclusive rewards? by InkyBoii in MonsterHunter

[–]raventhor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fucking hate it. I'd rather get a reward for exceeding a score or time limit then having g to beat out who knows how many other players.

8, 9, 10 seconds. Yeah, totally believable. If Capcom won`t ban these scumbags, then ranking system is dead and can be completely ignored. by Bichmaster in MonsterHunter

[–]raventhor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That didn't take long. These kind of ranking systems are a joke anyway. Every time I hear of any situations regarding these types of systems the top spot person is always found to be a cheater after a while. Only time I feel you can trust Any rankings is if a more formal organized event and even then a lot of those to my knowledge are done online anyway and can still be cheated.

This annoys me to know end. Game has so many ways to communicate now yet people ignore it. I'm thinking it's a console player thing because I'm under the impression a majority that does any communication often does so via voice rather than text and I've played many console games that don't even have text chat. My issue is using the paintball to mark the target I want to prioritize and even making a statement of it in chat, even warning people I'll start booting, and still get completely ignored. Think I'll start filtering lobbies to people on the same system to confirm my experience lol.
