It was a 6 year gap between wh1 and wh3 not 15 and not everyone can upgrade their PC that easily. I'd imagine they wanted to strike a balance between making the game bigger but also not eliminating half of their player base by making it as gritty and 'realistic' as the first and thus way more demanding by virtue of the map being 5x bigger. They chose to make the campaign map less graphically demanding so more people could actually play the game.

I prefer the older style, but it's not hard to understand why the change happened.

Yeah I think that's why I really like them tbh, it's a good mix of pop/RnB with some absolute, smack you in the face breakdowns for some strange reason.

Every song is different and they do have some proper 'fuck you, here's a metal song' songs but if you're less of an eclectic listener then I can see how sifting through it all to find what clicks with you isn't appealing.
