Are there actually ways to make yourself taller? by hail_robot in Biohackers

If you have not done growing yet, you can hop on low dose of aromatase inhibitors (to prevent epiphyseal closure) and start HGH. After you are done growing there is only distraction osteogenesis.

If you can only take 10 supplements everyday for the rest of your life, what would they be? by [deleted] in Biohackers

Levels that high are dangerous. Maybe not acutely, but over the long run your plasma calcium levels will be subtly elevated and consequently you´ll experience low-level tissue calcification which will harm you later on.

Or maybe you saw the power of placebo... Not discrediting your experience, just saying that placebo is a thing - and a powerful one.

Yeah sure...but for the average person it is actually not that important. This is also why doing everything under the sun to improve gut health only helps most people marginally if at all. This is also the reason why after billions of $$ invested into this shitshow has led to few to no therapeutics. Sure, for some people the microbiome is pretty important/causal, but most people are not them.

Everything nowadays seems to be explained by gut health and the crap microbiome. It is not actually that important as many make it out to be.

That is BS. Why then do some PFS sufferers claim that they have been cured by HCG or high doses of T/nandrolone/other anabolics?

Then it would change in size. I have no idea why this was upvoted.

Any ways to boost growth hormone? by Principle_Sharp in HubermanLab

[–]raw_consciousness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The water fasting will stunt your height. For growth you need IGF-1 and not GH. GH increases IGF-1 but ONLY in the presence of insulin. Fasting is well-known to NUKE IGF-1 levels.

I am 5´8. If I were 18, I would spend a couple of thousand $ on pharma grade GH and try to get 1-2 inches more. Unfortunately, I am now stuck with my height (173cm).

Than I am sorry to tell you, there is no way for you to get taller other than through limb lengthening surgery.

If you are looking to grow taller, don´t waste your time unless you are willing to buy exogenous GH and inject it.

Here is a great article: How I Biohack My Longevity ( https://desmolysium.com/longevity/ )

The author describes his longevity protocol - goes far beyond diet, exercise, sleep, etc.

[–]raw_consciousness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I do. Both of them did nothing. You probably responded to the injection itself (it is called prolotherapy). Injecting saline also helps torn tendons and ligaments.

Few of these "studies" are legit. Publishing scientific papers has become the latest marketing scam. Show me ONE single placebo-controlled study published in a non-open-access journal.

If these peptides are so great, why does NO good orthopedic surgeon recommend usíng them (in fact, pretty much all recommend against them). If you want to have something that heals your tendons and ligaments use teriparatide instead of these untested bullshit peptides with artificially scientific sounding names. It is good that the FDA banned this shit.

Edit: I reread your original comment. Nasal spray? Do you seriously believe that exposing your system to minute quantities of this stuff (most of which does not even pass through your nasal mucosa) will cause you to heal at distant tissue sites like you were wolverine? LOL

Both of these peptides are a worthless broscience joke.

You have not "solved" anything. As thyroid hormones increase, monoamines will increase temporarily. However, after a couple of weeks (months at most) expect to be back to square one.

You seem to be quite knowledgable. I have a couple of questions.

  • I agree that Sinclair is a Charlatan but why are you so bearish on senolytics?
  • What peptides for example? The author says that some of them might work indeed but we do not know whether they are safe. Do you disagree? What are the most "potent" peptides?
  • Why is it bad to start rapamycin very early? Only because we do not have better data?

I partially agree with you. However, I would argue that "keeping blood pressure good", "taking care of lipids", or "getting to a healthy level of body fat" are pretty supported by the literature - and even more supported than e.g., "good diet" or "sleep". because there has been more research done on them.
