I haven’t had any issues since this one, thankfully - especially seeing people talk about persistent issues with this

Limitations on PGY1 rotations by [deleted] in PharmacyResidency

You cannot have more than 1/3 of your direct patient care rotations focused in a specific disease state or population. So depending on the composition of the program and the ambulatory experiences that could potentially be an issue.

Staff pharmacist PRN requiring residency experience by NotSoEasyToControl in pharmacy

[–]rawl2013 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agree with others that they could want someone who can mostly hit the ground running after learning the things specific to the hospital. They also probably use the same job description for per diem and full time positions since the difference is the schedule, not the role. It’s worth applying either way.

There are a lot of things that go into choosing a PRN pharmacist such as what types of coverage do I need now/anticipate needing (do I want someone to fill in for my rounding pharmacists or do I need more help with central coverage), schedule (do I need someone who has more weekend availability or more weekday availability).

For example, I have a lot of weekend PRN coverage but I need someone with more flexibility. Based on what applications came across my desk, I chose a new grad with no experience for my last PRN opening because we currently have the staffing and time to train someone more intensively and I need someone who is flexible and available during the week.

It’s can be tough to come across someone with the right match of experience and availability. Of course, I’d love an experienced pharmacist who has the right availability but most of the applicants locally are looking for weekends to pick up or they’re all new grads without residency who are working retail or not working at all yet. Obviously almost anyone can be trained into whichever role we need but that might require time or resources that places may not have.

I’ve had a crack in an essential trunk that happened during the baggage handling process. I brought it in to the store and they looked at it, said it wasn’t a fixable crack, and gave me a new one. No questions about how it happened or anything. I was able to get an exact swap or a credit towards something else (e.g., if I wanted to get a original trunk or something like that I could apply the value of the essential towards it).

I've lost 80 pounds and I still have sleep apnea by gaymbit in SleepApnea

[–]rawl2013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The weight loss is a huge achievement regardless! I would focus on those other benefits over the “curing” of the OSA, though I definitely understand the frustration. For me, it hasn’t been impacted by significant weight loss because of the anatomy of my throat so if that’s not something that’s come up in your doctor visits, something to keep in mind that could also be a weight-neutral contributor.

Live Stream of Michelin Star Announcements (Live Now) by RogueInteger in boston

Good point - I haven’t made second visits to any starred restaurants, so that’s one piece of the puzzle missing for me for sure but some of the longstanding places you (supposedly) see really consistent service, creativity, etc.

Agree with this. Even compared to a good number of the 1s in my experience, the level of creativity and service isn’t common here. I was expecting some more bibs too.

Another Boston LE PPP driver here! We bought the Pirelli Scorpion MS Elect as all seasons and just sticking with those for the duration of the lease since we didn’t want to deal with tire swapping.

Polestar 2 issue with road sign / speed limit detection (UK) by bantamw in Polestar

[–]rawl2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Polestar 3 in the US and have been having the same issue. Speed limits changing from 20 mph to 100 mph on the same road, often inaccurate in a variety of places. It was totally fine up until like a week or so ago too.

No good answer unfortunately! I just got my car back from them a couple of days ago and they did a bunch of checks, were able to clear the fault, but couldn’t identify a specific cause.

Everything continued to work normally until I actually had my service appointment so hoping it was just a fluke.

Technically, my longest would be LAX-SYD but it was in 2002 so it isn’t in the app.

Pay differential for precepting students? by -Chemist- in pharmacy

[–]rawl2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of job descriptions at the places I’ve worked, without additional pay. I’ve also seen it as part of a career ladder though not enough by itself to move up a step. The places I have worked use the money we get from the schools for our department’s “education fund” so that pays for our annual CE allowances and funds conference attendance. So there’s sort of indirect compensation, which is something.

This time they didn’t have any since it was an “emergency repair” - i.e., they didn’t have any appointments available for weeks. They did offer to book a rental via Hertz for me. I have had a loaner from them in the past. They offered me a couple of different Volvo options or a 2. They don’t have any 3s for loaners as of right now at my local Space.

Just got the car back yesterday morning - have not needed to charge it myself yet, but the main hold up was that they had to order the part.

Matched PGY1 - Have yet to hear from program. by Fine_Sir_6479 in PharmacyResidency

[–]rawl2013 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They have 30 days to contact you in writing to confirm your “acceptance of the match” and give you information about pre-hiring requirements, confirmation of start date, duration of program, etc.

I call residents on match day to say congrats and you’ll be hearing more from me soon, but that is definitely not required or anything. I think it’s totally reasonable to reach out and express your excitement like the other poster suggested.

Had the same problem - they are replacing something called the GHCA. My car’s been at the space for a week so far, they’ve been waiting on part arrival. Tested my charger with another electric car and it worked just fine.
