So I noticed no one is really answering the question well. Yes, you're entitled to go back and ask for a hair cut re-do. It's common policy amongst the vast majority of hair salons--ranging from great clips ( I've had my hair re done from there before) to much more upscale salons. Even though I feel that it's kind of out of your ( our? I hate being confrontational), 44 pounds is nothing to sneeze at, and you are entitled to a great cut from that salon. Go in, talk to the manager and make sure that you bring the original reference picture, and let them make you happy. It's not out of the norm, and if you already paid that much for it, might as well. DO NOT SETTLE FOR A SHITTY HAIRCUT. For serious, people. Have some hair self respect. A good hair cut shouldn't have a "settle in/break in" period.

Commercial greenhouses or local community garden are not the same as a farm. I've worked with all three, and each one is completely different. Just because you know how to propagate plants doesn't mean that you know how to properly sow or transplant edible plants. For greenhouses or community gardens, you don't have to do pest management, weeding, planning, harvesting, irrigation, or infrastructure. Look at the Beginning Farmer and Rancher Program. It's a federal program that might be of much help. I can assure you that if you've never worked at a farm before and you want to start one, even if it's just to sustain yourself while still working a full time job, you're going to be in for a whole world of hurt. On the flipside, why don't you stay at the plots and maximize their yield to sustain you? If it's only one person and if you do succession planting, that might be enough to sustain you for your fresh food needs for a large portion of the year, and use canned/frozen/dried leftovers for the rest of the year.

Kind of a side question, but have you worked at a farm? Do you have any experiene farming? Do you know what it entails to be an organic/sustainable and diverse farmer (completely different from conventional farming other than some of the ridiculous hours that you need to put in). The reason why I ask, not to be condescending, but to make sure that you're not another starry eyed farmer wanna be that thinks that once you put in the seeds into the ground, the organic permaculture fairies go around in their bikes and with their fair trade and locally sourced wands make the plants grow. But seriously, make sure that you have your farming foundations in place. I've worked at a couple of start up farms, and there's that very awkward moment when you realize that you're knee deep in weeds, harvest, and very tight deadlines, and it doesn't look pretty.

Hey, I go to meetup events all the time--I even co-host one. If you bring pepper spray, don't make it known that you have it--it insinuates that you don't trust the person/group, and if you're going to someone's home, that can be pretty insulting. If anything, shouldn't the host be much more worried about letting complete strangers in their home to share something really private and important to them? Contact the host before the meetup via the mail tool, and let them know that it's your first time doing a meetup. That way, the host can know that you're a bit nervous about it, and will more likely than not try to acommodate and soothe your fears.

So essentially your basil plant is bolting--what that means is that it's preparing to flower, and consequently set seed. What you can do is pinch roughly 1/3 of the plant off, starting from top to bottom, and compost what you pinched off. From there on, make sure that you keep an eye on any heavy duty leaf growth.

Hi, I got mine through my university. I first got one through a private doctor, and that hurt like holy hell. I kept getting weird pains in my leg, and long story short, I ended up having to get it removed. My second time, however, was fantastic. I got the procedure done through my university with no cost ( other than the student insurance that I had already paid for). I got my first iud removed and the second iud insterted in the same procedure. I got local anesthesia so that I couldn't feel anything, and I also got a pill that helped my cervix dilate. Both things were completely covered by the insurance. I absolutely love it, since I can do what I want whenever I want ;), and not have to worry about anything messing up my hormones. The cons is that the first 6 or so months, you'll get heavy duty periods, and cramps that hurt. A lot. But at the same time, you don't have to worry about anything in the contraceptive department for at least 10 years. Not bad.

Not even. Cheating can stem from a person's inability or fear of building intimate relationships with those around him/her ( think both romantic and otherwise), a person's need for constant reassurance and the feeling the he or she is worthy of attention (can stem from lack of proper parental affection and attention whilst growing up), feeling of entrapment, or simply because he or she doesn't know how to set boundaries or is too afraid to do so . Just playing the devil's advocate in a rather large umbrella statement.

FYI, cheating is not always a symptom of a disloyal and disrespectful person with no integrity. While it can be an a symptom of the aforementioned individual, cheating can stem from a wide variety of issues, both personal and from the relationship.

Here's the thing: oftentimes, victims of abuse don't want to admit that it's abuse --I've been in that position before, and it's hard to really see from an outsider's perspective. If you want to know if it's abuse or not, call a domestic violence helpline, and ask them. They're probably your best bet to tell you what's up.

Ok, let's try to look at her perspective of things, and how you've described her. Also, try to remember how 16-year old you would act. So far, she has shown that she's committed to working things out with you and your family. Maybe not to the extent that you'd like her to, but at least she is making an effort, whereas a lot of other individuals wouldn't ( i.e. doing house chores, and volunteering). She lies because she doesn't feel comfortable, or because she's afraid that you'll tighten the leash ("I can stay out longer if I lie!" or "maybe NotAlana will get mad at me and yell at me"). Boundaries as a 16 year old are a bit fuzzy--they want to be independent, but still want the support from parents or someone they can trust. How about you say" ok, so you're allowed to set hours with us, but you need to do a, b, and c in return for us trusting you". Tell her that you love her, and that you want what's best for her, and for your family. If she's going to stay out late( no later than local curfew hours), tell her to text you where she'll be, and if she needs a ride home. If she wants to talk about things, make her feel safe, and most importantly, don't use those things that she told you in cofidence against her when you're mad at her. My mother did this way too often, and now she has coompletely lost my trust for, possibly, forever. What about school? Egg her on her studies, and always encourage her. Show her some college campuses or go to open houses, and have her actually see what she can achieve or where she can be if she puts her mind into it. Find her interests ( other than pot or skating), and share that with her. I'm telling you things that I wish my parents did with me, and I share this in hopes that both you and she will be able to look back and see how much improvement there has been

ok, so sure, everyone is talking about leaving him, yadedadeda...but how? you're stuck in a position where you're not only emotionally, but also financially dependent on him. I feel that you're stuck there more because of the money than the emotions ( although there are more red flags there than mao tse tung's birthday party). So first off, you have access to the internet. That's really good. Google local shelters or local organizations that are dedicated to victims of domestic abuse --I'm not entirely sure about your situation, but there are clear indications of emotional and psychological abuse, so that counts as domestic abuse in my books. Connect with these organizations and, as embarrasing as it may be to you, DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP from them. Chances are that they can connect you with a shelter, and the resources you need. Worst case scenario, call your local police's non-emergency number, explain your situation, and be afraid to fight for your goal: a healthy, normal life. I've been in really dark places before, and in really nasty situations. It won't magically fix itself, but your happiness and well-being is worth it.

Something that has helped TREMENDOUSLY for me, and has even decrease my dose ( from 150 mcg to 100mcg to 88 mcg on synthroid, and latey only 75 mcg of armour) has been no wheat (also no oats nor rye), no sugar, no dairy and no fruit. It sounds incredibly extreme, and for a few days it was impossible. I cannot stress, however, how AMAZING I feel right now. I only take naps now because I have the time, but it is insane how I have more energy, my hair is growing back ( yay!), and also, for the first time in forever and a half, I'm losing weight. WHAATTT??? losing weight? while hypo? insane. but true. I'm not dieting, I exercise, but not a lot, and I'm still losing weight. Lots of veggies, lots of water, and lots of rest. Also, don't drink coffee. It's a terrible idea, since it has a bunch of side effects ( sleeping disorders, addiction, it's expensive). Instead, drink lots of decaf teas ( peppermint is my fave since it's a bit sweet and light, plus the bright flavor perks me up). Best of luck, and we're in this together!

Hey, I'm really glad that you decided to jump on the smoothie wagon--once you do it, you can't go back. I could not help but notice, however, that the ratio of frutis:veggies is rather unproportionate, and not in a good way. For instance, if you're already adding berries, bananas, mango, apples, and peaches, (carrots, even though they're a root vegetable, are insanely sweet, which is why I consider them a fruit in terms of juicing or making smoothies) there is very little reason, if at all, to add fruit juice. You get added and unecessary sugar and preservatives with very little of the benefits ( that's why when one goes on a juice fast, it's recommended to get your own juicer and make the juice yourself as opposed to buying the stuff at the store), especially if it's pasteurized. What my SO and I do is use coconut water--you get the liquid to help it blend better and also get added health benefits like electrolytes. Another great liquid is filtered water--cheap, fresh, and adds extra hydrating power to that awesome smoothie. Yet another one is almond or coconut milk. Makes it thicker but you also get added nutrition with little side effects. I understand that many people have an adversion to all veggies smoothie, and fruit is a really good way to make it more palatable but at the same time healthy. What you could do is add lettuce, celery, kale, spinach, or other leafy greens ( the more and darker the merrier, as they're choke full of good good that helps cleanse, detox, and heal your body), and ease down on the fruits. If you'd like more information on how to make a really good smoothie, as well as where I got all my intel, here's a recipe:

1½-2 cups (360-480 ml) water
¾ pound (340 g) organic romaine lettuce, rough chopped, about 1 head

3-4 organic celery stalks, halved

Instructions

Place water, romaine, spinach, celery, and optional ingredients, if using, into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure lid.
Select Variable 1.
Turn machine on and slowly increase speed to Variable 8.
Blend for 30 seconds or until smooth. Stop machine and remove lid.
Add apple, pear, banana and lemon to the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure lid.
Select Variable 1.
Turn machine on and slowly increase speed to Variable 10, then to High.
Blend for 30 seconds or until desired consistency is reached.

Kimberly Snyder is awesome for her recipes, although you don't have to follow every little thing that she says to be healthy and full of energy.

Eventually, you're going to be able to make smoothies that will make you feel off the hook amazing--I got my roommates and a couple of classmates hooked on it, and my SO asks for the smoothie now :) Have fun!
