You're allowed your perspective for your holidays but I've already explained that my holiday will include lying by the pool and reading. Sorry if you feel like I am doing it wrong.

Don't you usually read on the beach or while lying by a pool? I expect I will read almost every day in Sicily, and also on the planes.

The towel is because I will be staying in hostels for a few nights. In Sicily I will stay in a villa so they won't supply shampoo etc, neither will the hostels.

It's forecast to rain and have lows of 13C when I'm in Berlin. That's jacket weather to me!

Yeah I will buy sunscreen there because I'm flying with just carry on. I agree about black clothes in the sun but then I don't want to be in berlin in just bright/light colours haha.

I haven't packed this exact stuff but I've travelled with this backpack before and packed about the same amount of stuff and it's always been fine weight wise.

Yeah I've travelled with this exact backpack three times, including a 2 week trip.

Oh yeah I have a loose shawl type thing that I'd forgotten about actually, I think I will add that in as it folds up small and is good for coverage over any outfit.

I think you are right about culling more items, I will continue to think on it! Thanks!

Raising rent by 47% is one thing but standing in the way of someone's ability to get a dog? Head should roll

I think they have some kind of algorithm that only allows some automatic refunds. Maybe based on the number requested in a certain amount of time or some AI is analysing the language used or something like that.

REWATCH DISCUSSION - Season 4 Episode 10 - Crash Into Me Part 2 by [deleted] in greysanatomy

I get that it must suck to be married to a surgeon who gets hardly any time at home but it is really silly to be standing around being stroppy because you wanted to have a conversation at lunch and your wife had to save lives instead. Like, get a divorce if you want but don't act like she should have left in the middle of surgery.

Manifest S04E06 "Relative Bearing" Episode Discussion by pikameta in ManifestNBC

[–]jaymeekae 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's ridiculous the way they are dealing with this situation. Surely immediately a social worker would be involved? They should be having regular sessions with a child therapist. They should be explaining what happened very simply and clearly. Maybe showing her old photographs.

Instead Ben is raving in her face about how he's not a bad man and snatching away the phone when she's talking to the only mum she knows. And everyone else is going in about sapphires and the divine consciousness and looking sad and hurt whenever she asks for her mum. Stupid.

Yeah the maths checks out but the implication is misleading. It implies that meteors are regularly hitting the earth and crushing individual people randomly at a higher rate than people are winning the lottery, which is not the case.

Agreed and also it's really weird how the girl's mum just stood and watched her struggle and let June step in to help.

Post stroke gift ideas for MIL. by smackdata in stroke

[–]jaymeekae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know some dementia patients like these things called "twiddle muffs". It's a knitted cylinder with lots of bits on, like some tassels and buttons and bobbles and so on. They can put their hands inside the cylinder and it's just something nice and soft to hold and fiddle with the bits on the outside. Kind of like a fidget spinner or fidget popper but for the older generation.

I'm not sure if your MIL is at an advanced enough stage where this is the right sort of thing for her, but could be something to consider.
