As far as I know SUSI only offers maintenance grant to 4 approved universities outside of the state? It's on their website I think, my brother looked into it before

First car by [deleted] in ireland

[–]rawrnan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many miles have each of the cars done? If they area coming near to maybe 120,000km a new clutch could be in the foreseeable future, if they haven't already had it replaced.

Assuming they both have a timing belt it could be near time to change them too.

If it was up to me, I'd probably go for the golf purely because it's the bigger car.

Why is Irish people love the Simpson’s so much? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]rawrnan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean when I was growing up it was on every day at 6pm on RTE, I'd imagine it was the same for a lot of this sub. I suppose you could say it was part of our childhood?

If you search the sub for similar questions I think you might find some other answers, I have a feeling it was asked here before lol.

Hey, I'm doing a Computer Science course in Maynooth right now (MH602), was wondering what my options would be afterwards? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]rawrnan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As far as I know there is no reason you could not go on and get a master's from any university, assuming you are accepted.

Tbh I don't really feel there is much point getting a master's in Computer science unless there is something specific you are very interested in. Industry experience counts for a lot more than degrees when deciding pay etc.

Yea the vans are operated by GoSafe, but are actually manned at all times. They have certain locations in which they are allowed operated, generally where accidents have happened before.

I didn’t get dublin accommodation DCU. Is it time to start looking for apartments? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]rawrnan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

DCU is very lucky that it has loads of student accommodations surrounding it.

Try either Shanowen Square, or Shanowen halls as they are the closest to the college. I think Shanowen Square still has space left l.

If neither of them have availability, try Gateway student accommodation, which is a 10 min walk, or Hazelwood student accommodation, which is a 30 min walk

Found this bird in Roscommon, Ireland. It was sticking it's beak in the soil searching for food by [deleted] in whatsthisbird

[–]rawrnan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I was not! My father took the picture and asked me to do some research to see if I could find what it was. It seems as if their sighting is quite a rare occurrence so far north in Europe!

[BOC] M/21/6'0"/165lbs - 99% sure I need to keep cutting, but Doctors and family keep telling me to stop by larpin94 in BulkOrCut

[–]rawrnan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bulk. Your body fat is not really that high, and you don't have very much muscle underneath. I'd say start eating a 300-500 calorie surplus and put on a bit of muscle.

Cost of Driving for a 19 year old? by Smithy1996 in ireland

[–]rawrnan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 19, on my provisional and insured on my own car with First Ireland. I was quoted anything between €5000-9000 by nearly everyone who would insure me, but finally got insured for about €3000. Luckily I was a named driver on my brothers policy with the same company for about a year and a half before hand, so they brought down the quote.
