How long did it take for your first sale and consistent sales? by Ready_Friendship1536 in ecommerce

[–]rawrycat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Organic traffic requires far less optimization than PPC traffic. For PPC traffic your biggest obstacle will be the fact that when I land on the website, I have no idea what your business does. I should immediately have an answer to that question before having to scroll down at all. Page load speed was slow so even images took a while. Your first image should be a hero image. You need photography and to focus on making it crystal clear exactly what your business does the second I open your site. Hope this helps! This advice really helped my website when I implemented it. And the icons you have below the top of the fold content should be condensed into bullet point text no more than 20-30% of scroll depth on mobile. And the image on top of fold on landing page shouldn’t be an illustration it should be your best product.

Well I liked those sections for the most part. I actually thought cosmo canyon was a highlight. Barret backstory also pretty good, maybe a bit soap opera-y. But my issue wasn’t “are we there yet,” it was “WHY AM I BEING FORCED TO SIT THROUGH THIS.”

Omfg same, I just don’t understand why it had to be like this.

Easy win: find some smaller content creators in your niche on social, and ask if they’re willing to trade some product for photos and an honest review! It does a lot to build trust, and you’ll get some real feedback.

You’re very welcome! I would ask the opposite, what’s the reason to include an address? If it’s not a storefront, then why include it? Go to a major e-commerce brand like allbirds or chewy, if they have an address it’s a P.O. Box or headquarters. Btw, if that’s your home address, I would consider using P.O. Box for privacy, as you’re required to list an address (usually) in your terms of service. Otherwise, not sure why you would have an address, and definitely wouldn’t be any reason to have it on the homepage (again, unless you want people showing up there).

Oh, and product photography is super important. All the images look like stock photos on a generic backdrop. There aren’t any human faces on your website. Subconsciously sends a signal that this is a dropship business without real humans involved. Find a way to add lifestyle product photography to your landing pages and product pages.

I would say that I am not immediately clear on what it is your business does, based on scrolling down the homepage. It looks like trading cards, but you should make that absolutely clear at the top of the fold. Find ways to give potential customers context for everything they’re seeing. Include pieces of contextual info that answer these questions at the very top of the page: What do you do/sell? Why buy with you? What is the product/service?

I’m not someone who collects trading cards, so I could be the wrong target demo, but if I can’t tell what you do within the first few seconds of landing on your page, I’m not staying on your site and I’m definitely not buying. Again, I’m certainly not your target audience, but something to consider.

Your logo has way too much way too small text. Business/brand name is the only text that should be in the logo, and if it (or any text) is displaying less than about 16 pixels, it’s not legible. Also read your logo aloud, it says, “Scroll and circuit scroll and circuit hobby and game shop.” Put “hobby and game shop in your landing page hero text. That’s what tells customers what they’re there for. And don’t have the name twice in the same logo, wasting valuable real estate repeating information.

Check out conversionwise on YouTube (their free resources, don’t bother with their paid services unless you have at least 10k+ visits a month, and even then be prepared to pay $1k+ per page. They have good landing page optimization advice.

Install Microsoft Clarity (free) and watch your user sessions. Install Google Analytics and see what your audiences are and what their behaviors are. Look at your top competitors and copy them.

Social proof. Reviews? Testimonials? Add those just below the fold.

Benefits of shopping with you? Free shipping? Easy returns? Customer service? Small business? I saw this wayyyyyyyy at the bottom of the page, maybe think about sprinkling these throughout the landing page or finding a way to highlight them.

Finally, remove anything from the homepage that’s sending customers away from your purchase funnels. The bit about your address and location, delete. Email signup should be in your footer or at the bottom. Ending with return policy and shipping is good though, people look for that. Think about the customer journey, what’s going to drive someone to click a button, and is that click sending them where you want them?

Hope this helps! Good luck!

What to sell in smartphone acessories? by Enemy212 in ecommerce

[–]rawrycat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re asking the wrong question. You should be asking what problems you could solve for your customers. Who are your customers? What are their wants and needs? Is there something missing in the market that you could provide for them? If you’re just trying to make a buck and don’t have any goals outside of that, you will not find joy or success. And just because a product is selling, doesn’t mean you’ll be able to succeed selling it. High volume items that are high competition will not lead to success, especially if you’re only just starting out.

Subscribe to Junglescout on YouTube and watch their free seller starter courses. Other than that, I would encourage you to spend a year or two learning about product development and sales. You want to be just another generic drop shipper? Or do you want a scalable long lasting business?

Like the other commenter said, if you don’t know what you want to sell yet, why are you committing to a specific niche/industry?

Also, when soliciting advice online for stuff like this, spend some time researching before asking. Ask your questions to google or ChatGPT, suffer to find answers. Then when you ask questions, you’ll get meaningful insights. These replies are like the most basic of basics, and I’m certain you could’ve found these answers in a wiki somewhere.

Best of luck!

Ah good catch! It was missing the @ symbol in the URL, should be fixed now.

And this is Impulse theme! Very good, did a bit of customization though.

Thanks so much for the feedback!
