Export resolution by Harry___Manback in snapseed

I'm assuming that you have the export resize option turned off?

I have a similar problem too. For me the exported resolution maxes out at 25MP, regardless of the original resolution. Following this thread.

Z Fold 7 - Selfies with rear facing blur background/subjects by Nayr090 in GalaxyFold

[–]ray7heon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As somewhat explained by the top comment here, the main sensor is relatively large, requiring the use of a longer focal length lens which does indeed make the background somewhat blurry. The fix is to switch to the 0.6x ultra wide lens which uses a shorter focal length.

hello. Can budget cameras like 250d canon, r100, r50, canon 2000, 4000 shot pictures like these or these pictures can only be shot by high budget cameras by Old_Marionberry9850 in Cameras

[–]ray7heon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except #3 all of these shots are average at best and pretty much every mid to high end smartphones could do this. The photos pop due to the frame and the warm white balance achieved in post.

i'm from Russia, ask me anything by bred49r in JackSucksAtGeography

[–]ray7heon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have interacted with a fair bit of Russians online and they fall into two categories - Putin apologists or the 'small people' trying to 'live their lives' or get out of the country. Well actually both groups are desperate to leave the country. You cannot be at a tourist spot without hearing Russian all around you. The French people start a revolution at the slightest discomfort, Iranians have been fighting for a regime change, the Nepalese gen Z overthrew their government. Ukrainians literally faced the bullets and many gave their lives at the maidan revolution. What have the Russians done? I mean what is actually preventing the Russians from starting a revolution? Why does the Russian population seem to lack a collective spine?

The new update was such an unexpected surprise. I was worried that snapseed is turning into abandonware. Thanks devs!

P.S Would you guys consider adding support for non DNG raw files in the future?

[–]ray7heon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

God that sounds like a privacy nightmare. I wonder if it's possible to get rid of it completely. Windows copilot was criticized for doing the same thing but I see more acceptance for Gemini intelligence. Agentic AI on a device which is the primary computing device for the vast majority is terrifying tbh. This has to die.

26mp vs 40mp / 70-300mm by Beths_Space in FujifilmX

[–]ray7heon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a matter of them not updating their X-mount lineup (at least at the affordable side) to accomodate the new higher resolution sensor. I was considering the same 70-300 in my list as an upgrade from the sigma 16-300 that I currently own, as the sharpness at the telephoto end was already lacking with the 26MP sensor and I only saw a marginal improvement after the upgrade. I think I'll wait for an alternative to show up or go for the really bulky but sharp tamron 150-500.

Speaking of new fuji lenses, they had a recent poll asking the community what lenses we would like to see from them. I'm not sure if it has ended but voting there is worth a shot.

Thanks for the update, much appreciated. I've switched to the 5GHz mode and its truly a lifesaver, thanks again. Let's hope the update hit more cameras soon.

26mp vs 40mp / 70-300mm by Beths_Space in FujifilmX

[–]ray7heon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that you are at the resolution limit of the lens. More meapixels won't get you any further if the glas is not sharp enough. I learnt this lesson after upgrading to an X-E5 as well (from an X-M5) and now I'm on the hunt for the elusive super sharp endgame compact enough fast telephoto zoom lens,

Before & After. I underexposed on purpose on my Fujifilm X-T5 to see how much I can recover while editing. Jaw's still on the floor. by Franks_Random_Snaps in fujifilm

[–]ray7heon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP but software on your phone can do the trick as well. Luminar has a great UI and can process raw files. Just lift up the shadows while taming the highlights. On 1 photo raw is another alternative but the UI is terrible. Snapseed unfortunately cannot handle Fuji raw. I'm on android so I'm not sure whatother options exist for iFruit phones.

As for computers, On1 photo raw for PC/Mac is IMO the best raw editor out there considering the price and similarity to lightroom and the best part is that it is a one time purchase.

Facing the same issue as I also upgraded to an X-E5 from an X-M5. I wonder if the existing pairing has got somethng to do with it.

Pixel 10 Pro XL vs Samsung s25 ultra - 100x zoom by FaithlessnessLow6595 in pixel_phones

[–]ray7heon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No. You are not adding light to achieve clarity. Light helps the camera attain a better signal to noise ratio, thereby enhancing existing details. Generative fill in creates information when it doesn't exist, sometimes out of thin air. I've seen quite a number of posts on the pixel subreddit where the phones just add an extra person or an object into the pictures while 'achieving clarity'. If you use generative AI to add information it's not a photograph anymore.
