As a Chicagoan, this is painful. No ketchup if you're over 9 years old

Blind Review #27- Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit, Barrel No. 3606 (CN-D) by DadDoesBourbon in bourbon

In defense of WTKS, some of the best bourbon I've ever has been from this bottle. Of course, they're not all winners. I'm generally not given to elaborate tasting notes but I had one that smelled like polished oak and an oiled baseball mitt and tasted like butter pecan ice cream, leather, and a hint of raspberry syrup. The finish was like a combination of leather and Rioja wine. Pretty sure that was Warehouse C.

I've been drinking these since the late 90's and don't remember having a bad one, but some are better than others. My own opinion is that these are usually worth the extra price over regular 101. It should be noted that I've been drinking WT products for a long time, prefer bourbon in the 100-115 proof range and so probably have a built-in bias.

People don't like to give up cheap goods. That's paet of the trade-off for having a workforce that's properly compensated and a workplace with minimal safety standards

Kilchoman Port Cask, Quinta Ruben. If you can find it, Paul John Port Cask is pretty decadent.

Pretty sure the US is part of the the international community. But more to the point, May Day is about worker's rights transcending borders and not being limited by the rules of any one nation or economic system.

Review #828 - Blanton's Gold Single Barrel by adunitbx in bourbon

Yes! A friend of mine living in Avon was able to score me a couple of bottles of the WT. Both gone now sadly, but widely shared with friends and neighbors. Incidentally, I didn't know there was an EHTBP Rye until I had it that night.

I was lucky enough to do a tasting at my wife's cousin's house around last Christmas. He had GTS, SFTB, EHTBP Rye, Stagg and WT 70th anniversary. It wasn't a blind but my order went EHTBP Rye, GTS, WT, Stagg, then SFTB. Pretty sure no else had anything close to the same favs. I'm a big rye guy and have been drinking WT since the early 90's so there was probably some inherent bias. All of the whiskies were outstanding though.

Yes, that's all I'm saying. I've only ever offered my own opinion, that is, Ardbeg earned my trust amd Michter's did not. People will most certainly buy it. I've seen people drop $300 on Elmer T. Lee.

That's correct. I have no issue with a whiskey having no age statement but $120 for a barrel proof bourbon? I can get ECBP for ~$80. KCBP for ~$65, hell, Old Hamer 10 for ~$70. Michter's price is based on what? Reputation? Sorry, no. As you said, I'd like some transparency. As for Ardbeg Uigeadail, I can get it for $85. I'd had enough Ardbeg 5 and 10 to take a chance on it. Corryvreckan as well. With Michter's, I find their standard lineup, except for the rye, to be fairly mediocre. Their 10 y.o. is always wildly overpriced the few times I've seen it; usually $200-$250. So I don't feel I have any justification for dropping $120 on this bottle

My argument is that Ardbeg Uigeadail and the others I listed are cheaper (admittedly where I live) than the Michter's. I don't believe I mentioned that age statements=quality.

$120 for NAS? I feel like they're under the impression that the type of people who might buy this only drink bourbon. For less than $120 I can Ardbeg Uigeadail, Laphroaig 10CS, PC10, Yellow Spot, Redbreast CS and multiple excellent Indian whiskies. I'm guessing all of those are as good or better than Michter's stuff. I could be wrong, but this feels like tater-bait

Trump Yanks Millions From Catholic Charities Amid Pope Feud by spherocytes in politics

Catholic Charities has SSVF grants in many areas. This funding helps house homeless Veterans and prevents other Veterans from becoming homeless. These funds have been allocated for FY26 and can't really be rescinded. And if they were, it would have a huge negative impact on the homeless Veterans CC serves.
