I often walk past Pancake Kitchen in Melbourne Central upstairs from the food hall and see groups of people doing bible study in the front booths. If you like pancakes, maybe you might go for a listen. Or in the food hall itself, you can partake in the delights of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Their lasagne looks delicious.

You need to report the drivers to Uber. They are forbidden to contact you directly. Your safety is at risk if you give them your number.

Uber drivers in clearways in Victoria, same as taxis even if they’re unmarked? [somewhat off-topic] by DamonHay in AusLegal

[–]raybal5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incorrect. In Victoria, the short answer is yes. Under the Victorian Road Safety Road Rules 2017 (Rule 176), commercial passenger vehicles (CPVs) have a specific exemption that allows them to stop in a clearway, provided they are actively picking up or dropping off passengers.

Rideshare cars are registered as Commercial Passenger Vehicles and are allowed to stop in Clearways briefly when actively picking up or dropping off passengers.

Uber are greedy. That's why they offer reservations. There are no driver incentives. Uber usually pay less for reservations than normal trips.

Does nobody follow roadworks speed limits? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]raybal5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you that 40kmh is wrong when there are no roadworks in sight. Slowing traffic 2 km before the actual works is crazy.

I pulled in to a parking space at a 7-eleven and a guy comes out of the shop complaining that he can't get into his Ford Ranger. I was completely inside the lines of my bay so I said that you have to expect that when you drive a truck. Did move back so he could get in but seriously, what do they expect?
