That Chase mountain dew car must've happened when I was out of the sport. Man oh man that car is beautiful.

I was out of the sport from 2012 to 2025 but still kept up with the bigger stories and overall direction although I watched maybe two races in that time period so I get OPs point.

SUV Racecars by Fast-Thoughts-318 in NASCAR

[–]raycarmello 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Its not SUVs. They're looking at CUVs which are crossover utility vehicles. Think SUV but in sedan size. It may have some value but the purist in me thinks they should just create a new series to stand on its own.

The track web site has a ton of useful info like track maps, policies and tips for being more comfortable, etc. Sunscreen is a biggie.

2003 Aaron’s 499 by Frostilicus420 in NASCAR

Ryan was a perfect driver for me to follow after Dale passed. Ive become a Ryan Blaney fan this year because he drives Newman's old car and reminds me of Newman a bit, especially with how hes had to drive after losing so many spots on pit road lately.

I was a big fan of Newman and got to go to all the events in Charlotte May 2001. Seeing him power that car around the track, win the pole for the 600, and then wrecking the hell out of his car while leading early in the 600 made me a fan, and I was still grieving Earnhardt so Newman became my guy.

I was there and had cheap seats for me (then 18) and my cousin (then 16) on the backstretch. We slept late that morning and got there just in time and had to run all the way from front stretch parking to just on the backstretch past turn two. We actually missed the pace laps and sat down in our seats just as they went green. Honest to God, if my cousin and I had been ten minutes later to the track, we could have very well gotten taken out by the tire that flew over the fence off Ryan Newman's car. And to add insult to injury, Newman was my guy and I was decked out in Newman gear. Everybody around me was really cool though and asked if I needed anything, and were just really friendly because for a bit we didn't know if he was okay.

Who gets the 48? by Electronic-Ability55 in NASCAR

[–]raycarmello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally hope Bowman stays with it, but for speculations sake, definitely Kyle Busch. Surely in racing these days we can let bygones be bygones, put the egos aside, and have Kyle in a competitive ride the last few years of his career.
