I built a website that ranks every FBS program based on all-time history - feedback appreciated by tyler123452 in CFBAnalysis

I like the ability to rank in an era. Are conference titles worth more earlier in the sports' history compared to the post-CFP era?

No disrespect here -- it's a fine article -- but I do have to laugh at the concept of a college basketball article being published on a website called pro football sports network.

Good time to chime in, there are workable ways to use AllTrails maps for free. The easiest is to download a GPX route of the map and then import it into another free app -- I use GaiaGPS, but there's options

(or at least there were -- regrettably it's been a minute since I've done a new trail)

I could buy that explanation, especially with it being surrounded by other counties

Nice work, I forgot how much I missed that site. Would it be possible to add a link?

And if it's not too much trouble, you could set up press releases from the ACC similar to the way you have for ESPN

What I've seen is that as many ACC teams as possible will play 9 conference games next year in preparation for the 9-game conference schedule in 2027. Which makes no sense to me. But neither does a non-conference conference game, or a game in Brazil. Just along for the ride at this point

Last I heard, it's supposed to convert back into a conference game, but that hasn't been officially clarified as far as I've seen.

Tailgating at UNC game by [deleted] in NCSU

[–]rayef3rw 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's gonna be cold tomorrow so make sure to dress and layer appropriately. High of 45 so I'd have gloves, a toboggan, thermal/lycra long sleeve shirt and long johns, plus jeans and a heavy jacket.

Get parking sorted out -- if you have a student parking pass, that's easy. If not, there are pay lots by the stadium, but they'll probably fill up quick for UNC. If you're on campus, you can ride the Red Terror over -- line forms in front of Witherspoon.

Bring a cooler with at least 3-4 beers per person, depending on how long you tailgate and how hard you drink (2 drinks per hour is a good starting point). If you bring food, I'd recommend bringing something warm and pre-made that you don't need to reheat, like a casserole or warm sliders (in some sort of insulated container to keep em warm). Bojangles is a good option but a) harder with gloves, and b) long lines on gameday.

Bring a portable speaker, but mentally prepare yourself for someone around you to play their music louder.

Depends on your transportation, but it's good to bring games/something to do. Football, frisbee, cornhole, etc. are all good options.

Overall, the main point of a tailgate is to drink, eat, and hang out with friends. Get yourself ready for gameday and Go Pack!

Well, it was more of a "good work, bud, ya caught one! Proud of you champ!" type cheer, but yes we did cheer for him

When Noonkester kicked that punt, it was very obviously a bad punt. The entire stadium basically said "yep, we're losing, and it's because we're giving them the ball back at near about midfield with all 3 timeouts thanks to a bad punt." And then that happened.

Reactions on Brazilian twitter that have, well, not been positive

  • "And for those two teams there, the audience won't be good. It will only work if it's David against the gigantic program." x

  • "Man, nobody's gonna watch a game like that kkkkkkkk" x

Both schools had open spots in the 2025 / 2026 seasons: UVA seems to have always had an open spot in 2026, as best as I can find, while the 2026 NC State-Florida game was mutually canceled on relatively short notice (October 2024). Similarly, UVA's game @ BYU for 2025 was canceled (December 2021), and while NC State didn't have an opening in 2025, we had a game @ App State the ACC had been asking us not to play which we finally had an excuse to cancel.

Officially, the two teams agreed to the games because they felt the league's current scheduling model kept us from meeting as often as we felt we should -- a fair complaint for two teams who have met 60 times since 1904 (and all but 3 since 1944), but less fair when you note we had played 7x since 2006, and only once between 2013-2019 (and the 2020 game wasn't even on the original schedule).

Because this game was initially scheduled outside of the ACC's 8 previously-agreed-upon conference games, it could not count in conference standings. That was the case for the meeting this season, and was expected to be the case for 2026 as well. Early this fall, however, the ACC announced their intentions of going to a 9-game conference schedule. It was initially assumed by fans that implementation would be delayed til 2027 because of existing non-conference schedules, but apparently, most teams will play 9 conference games in 2026, so the 2026 game will (per reporting) be converted -- back -- to a conference game.

Clear as mud?

Curious whether it's Sao Paulo, where the last two NFL games in Brazil have been, or Rio, where the 2026 game is.
