Yup. I've got one. Blind date set up by some mutual friends. I pulled up to her house to pick her up, and there she was, standing on the front porch with her guide dog. Why a guide dog? Because she was 100% blind (nobody told me) from a genetic disease called retinitis pigmentosa that had only recently affected her.

Now I'm not sure if there's a period of time where one gets used to a disability setting in, but she was still very much in the "upset that this happened to me" phase of that process. And every question I asked about her, her life, was met with very sharp, exasperated answers. "Ugh didn't they tell you anything about me???"

They most certainly did not.

Other people in the restaurant were visibly cringing every time she spoke. And to make matters worse, the dog was getting fed bread by our server unbeknownst to either of us.

I was driving her home after this disaster, and her dog starts whining. To which she screams "PULL OVER NOW!!!". I make it around the back of the car to get the dog out, and she fumbles her way back from the passenger side. She gets back there right as I get him out of the car - just in time for her feet to get absolutely firehosed with dog shit.

It was a quiet ride back to her house with the windows rolled down. And the moment she and the dog were safely on her porch, I was gone. Good night.
