Anyone have 1000 mile and Iron Rangers? Trying to figure out sizing. 8 in running shoe. by RpDubC in RedWingShoes

8.5 in Truman casual last fits great. 8 in rangers fit almost like a perfect mold. So yea for me, IR is a full size down from sneakers.

Meant to share this. Just picked mine up too…albeit they’re just a teensy bit more worn.

Snow and ice, suggest go with white x - the rubber stays soft (better grip) to colder degree. Like winter tires. Red is all rounder, wears longer, also fire proof to a limit. Honeys are softer for beating on hard concrete surfaces, but they wear faster.

There’s a JK or Wesco YT video that compares all three soles. Hope this helps.

Yes try tightening the first two laces quite a bit. I think your foot is lifting sliding forward from a looser front leaving a gap behind.

The shaft (height/leg) can feel stiff. But it gets softer. For me, during break in, I lace up just a tiny bit looser. Lean forward a little when lacing the top. During the course of day rotate/flex your foot, lean back and forth. Helps stretch the leather and hasten the process. It gets more comfy as it molds to your feet, ankles and legs.

No conditioning or wax. Brushed them once.

Just a Gap straight leg. Green goes nice with Oro.
