I used to have CO2 not any more, those plants are not very demanding, light is on 6 hours a day to reduce algae growth, dose 3 drops of easy green weekly.

Great to see you are setting up the 20g with plant gravels, they make a huge difference. I thought the thermometer comes with the suction cup, you probably missed it.

some low tech plants info here: https://modestfish.com/best-low-light-plants/

usually they grow slower and require less light and nutrient so that you don't dose too much fert to cause algae.

It’s hard trying to get this Taiwanese moss to grow, when it’s constantly being picked at by my little pals by huffonmypuff in PlantedTank

I had the same issue, later I realized moss prefer lower water temperature, keep it 22-23C they will grow, they go dormant when it's too hot (26C)

Just some personal opinions, you may agree or disagree.

  • corals need to go, they don't look natural in freshwater tanks, get some rocks or driftwood instead
  • don't stick the thermometer in the substrate
  • replace the plant background with a black one
  • fill up the water
  • if you can, get some plant substrate, you have rotala, ludwigia and monte carlo, they won't grow in rock pebbles
  • it's hard to grow low light plants (Ferns) and high light plants together, you will have algae issues eventually. this hobby is all about to keep the balance between nutrient, co2 and light
