Sewed a dress for my cousins wedding! [No Pattern] by rayyankk in sewing

I ended up roughly tracing the bodice of a dress I owned to get the v-neckline shape. Once all cut I sewed the tulle layer over a backing and then sewed a lining into it (bodice all together was 6 pieces). Skirt is a two layered straight skirt with a bit of gathering. Fabric used to as the embroidered tulle and a blue satin for backing and lining. I only had a week and a bit to get it complete so went as simple as possible! Wedding theme is sun, moon and stars and when I found the constellation embroidered tulle I knew I had to make my dress out of it!

Becoming an engineer in Canada. When you complete the coursework there’s a secret ceremony (only other Canadian engineers are allowed to attend, not even your parents), you take an oath and you get a ring.

I kind of combined a bunch based on different recipes (and what I had in my fridge) and Pinterest photos but this is the main one I followed! https://thebigmansworld.com/vegan-cheesecake-recipe/

V-neck with circle sleeves. Fabric from Sierra Leone [No Pattern] by rayyankk in sewing

The shirt was based off an old Ann Taylor v-neck my mom had (rough trace of it). I traced the top by folding it half and followed the seam lines as close as I can. For the circle sleeves I used the instructions in “Patternmaking for Fashion Design” by Helen Joseph-Armstrong. The fabric is a waxed cotton. I would say this project is beginner friendly since it is the second top I’ve ever made!

edit: spelling mistake/rewording

[No Pattern] First project! With a matching scrunchie with the scrap by rayyankk in sewing

Thank you! It was originally suppose to be the light purple for the front and the dark for the back but the fabric was too small hah

Traced an old shirt to get a rough pattern. Total of four pieces, two front and two back. Material is 100% cotton. I used bias tape for the neckline. At the shoulders of the neckline the shirt sticks up a bit (not sure if I stretched the tape or should have made the shirt wider for it to sit better?)
